This morning I just walked in the lobby to meet my staff members who stayed at this hotel for two nights. As soon as I walked in the lobby, the staff at the counter asked me if I was a guest here. I said I was not but I was a guest of guests who stayed here. Then he told me, "if you are not guest here, I will have to ask you to leave." I told him I stayed at another hotel next door and came here to meet my staff here. He insisted me disrupting business while there was no other customer at his desk and threatening to call police on me, for me just walked in the lobby and didn't do anything. This seems very upsetting to have such unfit staff to treat people this way and to work in a hospitality job. Not sure whether it was because he saw me as a female Asian as well and being racist. Very unprofessional and not welcoming place.

Very nice hotel. Clean, walk in shower, comfortable bed. We were not able to adjust the air-conditioning below 70. We like to sleep in the cold and usually set it to 67. It was a little warm in the room but we made due.

Staff was very friendly upon check in, and was helpful when we needed specific amenities we had forgotten. The bathtub drained extremely slow upon arrival. There was a dead lightbulb in a bedside lamp. The USB charger port on the bed frame did not work (though the ones on the lamp did). The pool had leaves in the surrounding area from autumn, the heater was broken, and there was white plastic debris floating in it as well. The entire pool area looked severely under-cared for. The gym was equally sparse, and my partner and I believe we caught a cold from our stay there. The air conditioner in the room smelled musty. The tv remote was clunky and unresponsive. The bottom lights around the mirror were bright, but the top were quite dim, making it difficult to accurately put on makeup. The elevators had scuff marks on the floors, and the buttons sometimes took multiple presses to register. This hotel needs a tune up badly.

I chose this hotel because of its close proximity to Scott Stadium for a concert, and that was definitely a plus. Parking was easy, and I received a friendly welcome upon arrival, which set a good tone for the stay. Before arriving, I called to ask about shuttle service to the event and was told the hotel didn’t offer one. I planned to use Uber, but when I checked in, I noticed a flyer at the front desk for a local shuttle service. The staff mentioned it wasn’t affiliated with the hotel, just something someone had left there. I appreciated having the option, but I do want to share my experience so others are aware. The shuttle service (Above and Beyond Shuttle Service) after asking for their availability and accepting the time slot they did not confirm our pickup time, arrived late, and ultimately dropped us off far from the stadium, telling us to walk the rest of the way. We were able to make the walk, but it would have been helpful to know that in advance. As for the hotel itself, we ran into some issues with our room. The AC wasn’t functioning at all, and the fridge wasn’t keeping items cold. I had brought about $100 worth of food that needed refrigeration, so this was a concern. Unfortunately, we didn’t realize the extent of the problem until after walking over 3 miles back from the concert late at night. I called the front desk about the AC and was told someone would come up when available. While waiting, I discovered the fridge issue and went to find ice to try to preserve my food. The first ice machine I tried (on the 2nd floor) wasn’t working, so I had to go to another floor. When I returned, the staff member eventually came to the room and, rather than fixing the issues, moved us to a room across the hall. The new room was cooler and had a better-functioning fridge, which I appreciated, though I still used ice to be safe. No ice machine on the first floor, I was told the 2nd and 4th floor had a machine. I went to the second floor first and that machine wasn’t working it didn’t sound like it was on so I then made my way to the 4th floor for ice. For a stay that cost around $350 for the night, I expected the room to be fully functional and for issues like this to be handled more promptly. That part was disappointing especially after being at the concert and walking back so late at night. At checkout, I shared my experience, and the staff member was very kind and compassionate. She apologized and handled the situation much more warmly, which I truly appreciated. Overall, the location is great, but there’s room for improvement in room maintenance and responsiveness. I would also strongly suggest the hotel consider coordinating a reliable shuttle service during major events. Even a designated drop-off point within walking distance would be helpful, especially given how heavy traffic gets in that area.
