We were there to pick up to adopt a dog in the area. We were given a room without a dog bed or bowls. Luckily I had these items with us.

I had a wonderful experience hosting an event here last week. The hotel staff were very kind, attentive, and helpful during the entire process from booking the rooms to making sure everything ran smoothly during the event. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There are many great restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance.

This is the cleanest hotel room I have ever been in. 5 stars just for that. I walked around barefoot for 2 days and my feet stayed clean. The staff are all incredibly kind and approachable. The decor is ADORABLE; very charming. The bed and pillows are very comfortable, and the provided toiletries are nice. The bathrooms are tile floors and showers which gives a very clean and luxurious feel to the room. Little touches give delight; a memo pad by the phone that looks like an exam slip, napkins with cute "to do" lists, really great artwork everywhere you look.
There are some downsides. The ONLY on-site parking is a garage for $29 a night. You *could* park farther and walk but that's not ideal with suitcases. There's no breakfast available. Rather, there is a starbucks-like menu of avocado toast, etc available for purchase. At this quality of hotel I'd expect meal tickets with the room, at least, but they don't have a meal available to buy. There's no room service, which isn't a big deal for some but could be for others. The room has a fridge, but no microwave so enjoy eating all your leftovers cold. The room has an electric kettle and packets of instant coffee, rather than a coffee machine, which seemed really cute at first, but they had no tea bags available, which seems way more intuitive than instant coffee.
Though my complaint list is long, these are all convenience items. I'm in Charlottesville often for medical needs and this is absolutely the hotel I'll book every time based solely on how clean it is. I can plan around the other things by bringing tea bags, ordering salads, walking two doors down for breakfast at Farm Bell Kitchen, and budgeting for parking, but this hotel provides something you cannot bring with you; a clean, comfortable room and great staff.

Every south member that I encountered at the hotel was just at that perfect level of helpful but not at all overly intrusive. The guestroom was utterly delightful. I appreciate the hotels, enthusiastic rather than begrudging attitude about complementary elite upgrades. We stayed with the points redemption booking and we’re very pleasantly surprised with the room that we were given. 100% five star.
