    Worst Hilton experience, will never book at a Double Tree again. Couldn't use the pool because it was dirty, and gross. Room was not well kept, maintenance, or by housekeeping. Customer service prior to the stay was terrible. Then after paying enough to book a room as it is, breakfast is not included, and they want to charge $18 per person over 12 for a breakfast buffet. After seeing how much money they clearly don't spend on the maintenance of the rooms, and the corners they cut, you couldn't pay me to eat there. Also, the "cookie" Double Tree van was parked all night and morning in the loop, for dropping off guests or ease of entry for disabled persons. Basically the prime spot right outside the front door, which should be strictly left for guests was blocked our entire stay, it just goes to show the level of consideration this establishment has for its customers, their ease of entry, and their priorities.

    This hotel charged me twice for my room and a pet fee of $75 when I told the front desk employee Habibi that our dog was a service animal. The manager working there showed no empathy for my situation and offered zero resolution. I hope this hotel gets the rating it deserves - 2 stars at best.

    Common spaces are nice, drinks at the bar were great. Rooms could have been cleaner (mold in the tub caulk) and need a refresh (toilet was very low and bath door hit the shower curtain bar so you were always dancing around the door). Had an old tub, instead of a walkin shower, and the water pressure was low (but the water was hot). We also got two "queens" that seemed more like doubles (feet hanging off and too narrow to be a queen). If you are visiting UVA, it is quite a bit north on 29, so consider the extra drive time to get downtown. Oh, and the gym was ok but no mats for floor work and couldn't find a restroom near the gym (which is through the pool area). Also, the water dispenser in the gym was out and seemed to have been for a while...

    One of the wildest experiences with customer service I have ever had. On our second night we ended up checking out after an employee got aggressive with me. They had several parties going on and no parking available. For guests … obviously we were annoyed with this as any guest would be. When we asked about parking another employee interjected and told me I was acting hysterically. I was not at didn’t even raid my voice once. then when I tried to walk away calmly she followed me and would not leave me alone. I sat down on a couch to look up something on my phone and she sat next to me and continued to yell at me and accuse me of being hysterical. I have never experienced anything like this. At one point she told me she was a “guest” so I was like then why are you talking to me then… found out she was not a guest and indeed an employee. Why in the world would she lie to a guest about being an employee. None of the other employees interjected or came to our assistance as she harassed me and my 73 yo mother. We decided we felt unsafe and the rooms were dirty smelled like weed and overall nasty so we decided to leave and stay somewhere else.

    I am writing to formally complain about the extremely disappointing experience I just had with my reservation. I made a reservation for tonight for my family. On the website, the dates clearly showed as tonight when I selected and confirmed the booking. However, after the reservation was completed, the dates suddenly changed to 2 December. I called within 3 minutes of making the reservation to correct this. The hotel transferred me to Hilton, assuring me it would be taken care of. I then stayed on the call for about an hour, only to be told that: • My date could not be changed, • My reservation could not be cancelled, and • No solution could be offered, despite the fact that this issue was clearly caused by the system or misleading information on the website. This feels like a case of false advertising and completely undermines trust in the Hilton brand. I am very disappointed that a company of Hilton’s reputation has a helpline that is unable to help in such a clear and time-sensitive situation. I am requesting the following: 1. Either a full refund or 2. A no-penalty date change to the original I reached out immediately after noticing the issue. I look forward to a prompt resolution.
