I had an excellent stay at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Richmond North Ashland! From start to finish, the experience was seamless and welcoming. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and exactly what I needed for a relaxing stay.
What really stood out, though, was the exceptional service—especially from Tabitha at the front desk (I hope I got her name right!). She was absolutely amazing both on the phone before my arrival and in person during my stay. Friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful, she made the entire experience feel personal and stress-free.
It’s rare to come across someone who goes above and beyond the way she did, and it truly made a difference. Because of her, I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend this hotel to others.

Stopped in on our way to Florida. King room is spacious and very clean. Front desk young lady was very friendly and had us ‘checked in’ in no time. There are a couple of restaurants within walking distance. We would have preferred delivery, but there were no menus in the room, and none at the front desk. Our room had a microwave and a bar fridge with a freezer, very handy. Location is great as you are right off the I95.

It's ready over renovated outside but inside the room sucks it's like from '80s .
I HAD TO GO IN THE LOBBY TWO TIMES because my key wasn't working and they finally figured out because the battery was dead on the door so I had to drag my it sucks it's not a good customer service if you know your battery is bad on the door housekeeper should know about it when they cleaned it it sucks.

Extremely disappointing experience at Holiday Inn Express & Suites Richmond North Ashland.
Our room showed multiple signs of serious deferred maintenance and sanitation concerns. The bathroom door frame was rotting and splitting, there was dark debris and moisture damage around the bathroom threshold, trim and wall panels were separating from the wall, the window wall had large cracks, and behind the desk there was an open hole exposing the wall cavity next to an electrical outlet. These conditions raise obvious concerns about water intrusion, potential mold, and overall room safety.
What made the situation worse was management’s response. After bringing these issues to their attention and providing photos, management refused to offer an alternative room, did not offer to fix the situation, and did not offer a refund.
This is not the level of guest safety, cleanliness, or service expected from the Holiday Inn Express / IHG brand. A room with visible structural deterioration and sanitation concerns should never be placed into service.
I’m posting this so IHG corporate and hotel ownership are aware of the condition of guest rooms at this property and how guest concerns are handled.

I had an amazing experience! Nicole at the front desk was absolutely wonderful. She assisted me with all my request incredibly welcoming, and helped my family. I was very grateful to meet her. She was so friendly, and knowledgeable. What ever they are paying her is not enough. Just ask Nicole.
