Hilton Garden Inn Reagan National is in a world of it's own. Daytime staff are incompetent and rude. If you're a traveler stranded by the airlines and you show up with an advanced, prepaid guaranteed reservation in your name and happen to look like a disheveled older person in need of shelter, they treat you like you're a homeless person, but you do have identification. A printed hotel reservation in you're name. You do have a credit card, and a "pre-paid" room reservation. You have a knapsack and a shopping bag full of Christmas presents and your pillow. Because you're a few wrinkles short of a fresh clean face the desk clerk questions who you are and how come you've come in the lobby. My sister:"I have a reservation made and paid for by my brother" Desk clerk: What's your name? How do you plan to pay? .....goes on until my sister calls me and says "Dragon Lady says I can't check in." Let me speak to her. ....yes it's pre-paid by me on my Visa ...deskclerk asks me to verify my card number on file ...... Finally my sister has her room. They take her credit card to guarantee payment for a pre-paid ....next morning they process her card for the pre-paid room ....and email me the folio with her credit card payment .... for the room I reserved, paid and put in her name for the confirmed reservation.
Madness..... "Dragon Lady" on the desk at 3 PM on Monday December 29th needs training in hospitality. She pre-judge a 70 year old lady with long grey hair. Treated my sister as wandering homeless person.
I've read several reviews on the hotel by Black, Latino and Asain guests. That alone should be noted. But this particular Hilton Garden Inn at Reagan National Richmond Road Arlington, Va takes it to a new level of just being inhospitable to all travelers. There's a reason rooms are so cheap. Stay once and never return.

My experience at this hotel was just ok. I only say that because I’ve been calling for a few weeks now to get something that I left in th hotel multiple workers told me they would give me a call back but never did . One person left me on the phone . Be aware if you accidentally leave something because you either have children or in a rush you’re not EVER getting back .

Rooms and location is good, the shuttle makes traveling to and fro the airport a breeze.
Staff could be better however. The morning I checked out the they informed me the printer wasn't working and they would send me the folio/receipt. Never heard from them for weeks, and when I tried to call back to have them send it to me they kept placing me on hold.

Can only rate based on customer service, as I wasn’t able to stay due to becoming ill at the airport. My husband booked the room through Expedia during storm-related delays in Toronto, and I realized shortly after that I needed medical care and couldn’t use the room.
I called within about 20 minutes of booking and was told cancellation might be possible but had to go through Expedia. Expedia made multiple attempts to contact the hotel without success. When I later messaged the hotel directly, I didn’t receive a response until the following day, at which point I was told no flexibility would be offered due to policy.
I understand cancellation policies exist, but this was a situation where the service wasn’t used and the request was made almost immediately. The experience left me disappointed, especially given other customer service concerns reflected in existing reviews.

I've never encountered trouble with accomodations with Hilton brand properties in the past but this time is different and left a terrible impression.
Booked a room via Expedia not realizing it was non-cancel. 2 nights after I booked and 40 entire hours before check in, I had to cancel my reservation due to a work emergency. Understandably, the third party did not offer anything but referred me directly to Hilton to submit request for accommodation.
After 3 whole days of messaging twice a day with no answer, I finally recieved correspondence back. The hotel associate seemed to enjoy refusing to accommodate even a reservation for another weeknd or credit of any kind. When I pushed back, questioning how terrible of an experience this would leave me with, the representative became snarky, condescending, and dismissive.
Needless to say, I WOULD NOT reserve this place on if it were for the homeless.
