My husband and I stayed here for his birthday and so glad we DiD!
It is Beautiful and in a lovely area within walking distance to shopping and food, It is a modern space with a soothing energy. but the "Stars" of this hotel.. the front desk staff, Amari and Michael, Joshua were accommodating in every way!
We were upgraded and sent a lovely treat for my husband (he was certainly surprised) Michael checked on us throughout our stay, and Amari made sure we could sleep in before taking off!
I hope upper management see's this and all the other lovely reviews re: your team.. the professionalism and kindness was over and beyond what we expected, they are the ambassadors of the brand and should be commended.
Stay Amazing we will see you guys very soon! Thank you All for a lovely birthday getaway.
Great location. Little difficult parking. Room was immaculate aside from pillows which had a subtle scent to me. Everything looked clean. Fairly certain they offered self park on booking.com but when we arrived, it was valet only. $45 for overnight valet wasn't horrendous and ended up being convenient. We walked to everything since it's right in the middle.

Very nice stay overall. The hotel is beautiful, very clean, and the Old Town Alexandria location is excellent. Staff were friendly and professional throughout our visit.
One area for improvement is pricing transparency. When a reservation is prepaid in full, guests typically do not expect additional taxes and property fees at checkout, especially when those charges were not clearly disclosed during booking or mentioned at check-in. Clearer communication around these items would make the experience feel more straightforward.

We will not be staying here again. A warning to anyone booking a stay the Heron: My husband and I stayed here for a weekend to go see a concert in Washington DC and booked through Capital One travel. The day we checked out we received a $210 charge on our card on top of our regular room rate and the cost of drinks at the bar in the hotel that we were aware of. We called to get the charge removed only to be notified that because the hotel is in a historic building there is a daily fee on top of daily amenity fees and other city taxes. They said it is posted on their website, but the only details under the “Fees & Charges” section is a Daily Mandatory Destination Charge of $25. If this was clearly communicated we would have stayed elsewhere or at least been aware of the charge because an additional $200 charge is not just spare change for some of us. We are disappointed and will not be recommending this hotel to others.

Make sure you check your credit card after you check out! I was charged 2 extra $30 charges for “mini bar” charges that I never used. I called and had to email my credit card statement to the hotel to get reimbursed for these charges. It was a nice hotel with comfy beds, but be careful of being overcharged!!!
