  Stayed here with my parents while in town for a family member’s funeral. The staff was kind and even let us check in 30 minutes early. The ‘Up’ button to call elevators wasn’t working, but ‘Down’ was, and this is a good workaround, however the only elevator button on the 1st floor did not work so the stairwell had to be used. This was also the case with the ice machine on all floors except for the first floor as well. There were some bugs, living and dead, as well. Found a baby roach scurrying in the bathroom where there were also some gaps between the floor and tub, as well as the grout. Also found a dead wasp in a hallway windowsill while waiting for an elevator. Overall, the staff is very kind but the cleanliness could use some work.

  The short lady wearing wig is extremely rude and feels disgusting of herself or the customers, you can’t tell

  Just spent a two night stay at this Holiday Inn, and do not recommend. Dropped $700 for a two night stay for two different rooms for my family, and both rooms had issues that the staff said they would fix while we were out but never got addressed, and did next to nothing to help. They’re are plenty of other hotels/inns surrounding this one, try one of this those instead. Price we paid did not reflect the quality

  We had a pleasant 4 night stay at the IHG Alexandria/Ft. Belvoir. Thank you to the hardworking staff. Carla was particularly helpful, but all the front desk staff were excellent. We appreciated the free breakfast with the large English muffins perfect for breakfast sandwich construction. The oranges were also above average. Room was very nice , a few dings and scratches and a small amount of moldy sealant around the tub, but overall in nice condition. Water pressure was outstanding. We used the fridge but not the microwave. Did not see a coffee maker. We slept well as our room was very quiet, we turned off heat as fan was a bit noisy, oddly it stayed warm even (21 degrees outside) with it off. On the last night in the middle of the night, heard something like fireworks, maybe testing at Ft. Belvoir, but wasn’t very loud. All in all a pretty standard HIE, which hits the sweet spot of value IMO. I feel like the $10 per day parking fee in this very suburban/in the woods hotel was a bit of a money grab. No parking pass was issued or license plate required, just an automatic charge each day on your bill. Parking lot is huge and empty (and in back lot which our room faced, very dirty so they aren’t using the fee to keep the parking lot clean). This was a solid 4-5 star HIE, but 4 months ago when we stayed at the Springfield HIE, which is more urban than this one, there was no charge for parking. You can make me pay the parking fee, but you can’t make me be happy about it!

  THEY CHARGE YOU FOR PARKING AT THE DESK AFTER YOU BOOK..... AN ADDITIONAL 15$ CHARGE I booked with this hotel SPECIFICALLY for a jacuzzi in room suite. I called the hotel to confirm they had the rooms, after booking and confirming, I get a text saying it was successfully booked. 2 days later I arrive to my room with my wife for our little anniversary get away. Only to find out, they have me in a standard 2 bed room. NOTHING to what I paid over 100$ for. I could've gotten this room for literally half the cost elsewhere but chose this location for the room specifically. The front desk woman (sweet as ever and tried to help) couldn't help with my specific room requested, showed my receipt and all. She was only able to give me a king bed as a "upgrade"....which isnt an upgrade if THATS WHAT I PAID FOR.... was non refundable so they knew i was screwed.....The whole experience was embarassing.... THE ONE THING SHE WANTED.....and I got made to look lile a fool. They "say" they gonna make "improvements" in their comments under the reviews ive read this morning before making this and let me tell you..... NOT A SINGLE IMPROVEMENT FROM WHAT IVE READ HAS BEEN DONE FROM WHAT IVE SEEN AND DELT WITH! Holiday Inn will most likely never see my money again. Treat your guests BETTER! WE are the reason youre in business! Dont waste your time with this hotel, the bathtub isnt cleaned properly, elevators or barely functioning and all you hear is the traffic...... save yourself and your loved ones any headache or embarrassment....
