  After another long day on the road at the start of our family’s trip south, Holiday Inn & Suites Salt Lake City-Airport West ended up being exactly the kind of stop we needed. We arrived late, and while the parking lot was fairly busy, we were still able to find a workable spot for our truck and 35’ travel trailer in the upper northwest section of the lot. One small moment that stood out right away was a man sitting in his truck who saw us coming in and offered to move down a few stalls to help us fit more easily. It was a simple act of kindness, but after a long travel day, it made the arrival feel much easier. The lot was well lit, which also made arriving late feel more comfortable. Check-in was smooth and straightforward, which is exactly what you want arriving late with kids, dog, and a larger setup. The hotel itself felt modern and well maintained. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything it needed for a good overnight stay. Nothing overcomplicated, just easy and functional in the way that matters most after a long drive. Despite being near the airport, noise levels were not an issue for us. One of the more memorable parts of the stay was the pool. The front desk let us know the pool area was still open, but the lights were on a timer, so it would be dark. My wife and kids still went down, and they ended up loving it. Swimming with the exterior light coming through the windows gave it a completely different atmosphere than a typical hotel pool and made it one of those small moments the kids will remember from the trip. There is also a large eagle statue out front that gives the property a bit more character than a typical Holiday Inn and makes it stand out when you arrive. The next morning, checkout and getting back on the road were just as easy. There is a sit-down restaurant and bar on site, though we did not use it. Instead, we grabbed breakfast from Port of Subs just down the road before continuing south. Overall, this was a smooth, practical, and comfortable overnight stop. The location near the airport makes it especially convenient for travelers passing through Salt Lake City, and it works well for road trips, airport stays, or anyone needing a reliable place to reset before getting back on the road.

  The pool is so tiny and cold. They charge you a fee for parking which is ridiculous. And one of the receptionists is so rude. I requested maintenence because my room has a nail coming from the floor and after hour and a half she said that there was no maintenence that evening. So then I requested a change of room and she was rude and mad.
