I rented my room through hotels.com and they sent an incorrect checkout date to the property.
I've never had that happen - but I guess there is a first for everything.
That wasn't the issue or the reason for the 1 star review. My flight got in around 11:00pm, I was traveling with my 9 year old daughter and we were exhausted. When I got into the room the floor was dirty and covered in starnds of hair. There was hair all over the sink and sheets. It was disgusting, but I had a funeral to attend the next morning and it was late, so I used a towels to clean the floor and counters, and my daughter and I covered the bed with towels and slept in our clothes. The next morning I let the front counter know about the room and ask them to clean it thoroughly. They did.
The day after the funeral I was with my family when I received a call from Lorraine who was working the front counter that afternoon. Lorraine informed me that booking.com said my reservation had me checking out Sunday morning and the hotel was confused because my things were still there. I explained that I wasn't sure why they received that information because I had the email from Hotels.com and it showed my check-out day as two days later, on Tuesday. Lorraine said that hotels.com, booking.com, and "all the other ones" were the same and it didn't matter. Then she went on some long diatribe of explaining that she didn't know what was going on..she was frantic and rude during the conversation. I explained to Lorraine that I would have to reach out to Hotels.com and sort it out, but in the meantime I asked what I needed to do with the hotel to make sure my reservation was extended. Lorraine again went on an extended rant about hotels.com and booking.com being the same and it was honestly a very confusing conversation. I again, explained to Lorraine that I would work things out with hotels.com since they are a third party but wanted to find out the best way to resolve the situation with Holiday Inn right now.
Lorraine said I was being rude and disconnected the phone.
So. I left my family and went to the hotel to find out what the confusion was about. When I arrived Lorraine's eyes were dilated, she was sweaty and shaky, and it seemed as if she was under the influence of something - I'm not sure, but she definitely lacked conflict resolution, basic motor skills, basic communication skills, was unable to hold a conversation, and felt unnecessarily attacked when I told her I would contact hotels.com and find out why my reservation information was incorrect.
Long story short I gathered my things and checked out of the hotel and booked around the corner at La Quinta.
Listen, I'm from Utah, and visit often. There aren't a ton of amazing places to stay in this area, but literally anywhere else is a better option -

Just now, at 12:10 this midnight, a strange lady used her room card to open the door of my room (101). I went to the front desk to ask if two ladies were operating the computer system. There were about ten guests in the lobby who might be in a tour group. I asked the front desk why someone would open the door of a room that was already occupied with a room card of the same room number? One of the ladies named Michelle told me that the wrong room might have been arranged. I asked her, "Is your duty manager here?" This mistake directly affected my accommodation experience and my personal safety! She said their manager, Tina, is not here now and will come tomorrow, but she doesn't know when she come here.I asked her how we could solve this problem. She said she didn't know and that it could only be solved when their manager came. The lady at the front desk just apologized to me. There's nothing else she can do. I'm waiting for the person in charge of this hotel to solve the problem, which has seriously affected my personal safety and rest! This is so absurd and ridiculous!
