Maybe I would have been taken advantage of anywhere I went on a Saturday night when there was some kind of event happening in town. But I was stranded with my 4 kids in Evanston and needed a room. They gave me a room with a pull out bed, which was the best they had left and quoted me $282 (which ended up at over $300 with all the fees, etc.) The rooms were very nice and the service was ok, but I've never paid that much for a room for my family of 6 anywhere that we have stayed, even in major cities. I couldn't walk my kids and all my stuff somewhere else in town, so we just did it, but I hated that it felt like our unfortunate situation was being exploited. I've looked at their rates for other days and other weekends and none were as high as that. But it's for sure the nicest hotel in town with a good breakfast, so there's that.
