  We started out a bad time. My car broke down just over an hour into our 5 1/2 hr trip. We get to the hotel and check in. Smooth! We go up to our room, literally next door to the rooms getting construction 🙄. The next night my husbands nephew had bite marks from bed bugs. We had to go to a laundry mat because the hotels dryers were not working. We get back from washing all of our clothes and get put in a new room. Turned the AC on and thought there was a plane flying over 😱. It was actually louder than the train that went past the hotel numerous times a day/night. The staff were very nice so this review does not reflect them at all just the cleanliness of the hotel overall. Very disappointed because there were no reviews showing what we had to deal with.

  Stayed overnight while travelling. Pretty easy to get to off the highway. A little awkward having drive by the parking to to access the doors to the front desk to check-in to then drive around to the back again to park and go back inside. Check-in was quick and easy. The parking lot is ok, but not very lit up at night and there’s quite a few people loitering right outside the only door to get in smoking anytime we leave or come back. Feel like some better lighting and a designated smoking area could go a long way. Room was kind of dated when it came to decor but had a fridge, microwave and a decent size TV. Noticed some of the outlets appeared almost worn out and wouldn’t even keep a plug in them as it wasn’t a tight fit. Also noticed some weird stains on the curtains. Overall the room was clean in a lot of ways, but then it wasn’t in other areas. The pool area was nice and warm inside. Kids seemed to enjoy the pool and the hot tub was a nice, tolerable temperature. Fitness Center is really basic as far as equipment that’s available but it was super clean. One other thing to note is there is a train track that runs extremely close to this hotel. Trains weren’t going by too frequently, but when they did you knew it. Overall this place is fine to stay at in my opinion, as the lobby area was incredibly clean and appeared to be fairly new. It looked like they were in the process of doing renovations elsewhere as well.

  hotel offers clean, spacious rooms and a good breakfast with a variety of options, including a kids-eat-free offering. They also highlight the friendly, helpful staff and the enjoyable pool and hot tub area. Some reviews mention the rooms can be neglected.

  Great pool for kids! A hotel room is a hotel room when it comes to Holiday inn. You know what you're getting with that. But, this pool is what sells me with three kids. There's a 9-in deep section that is like 20 ft by 15 ft wide. Then the rest of the pool is only from 3 ft. All the way to 4 and 1/2 ft. Nothing to worry about with the kids.

  We usually stay at a different hotel chain when we travel, but in an effort to save money, we booked at this location for an overnight on our way home from vacation at the beach. The front desk clerk, Karen, was very nice, and the food at the restaurant was very good. What really marred our stay however, was the awful smell of cigarette smoke. Upon arrival on the fifth floor, the hallway stench was horrible, but when we opened our room doors, they smelled a lot better. So we went ahead and unpacked, and settled in for the night. Unfortunately, the smell from the hallway eventually permeated into the guest rooms too, irritating our sinuses and making the stay unpleasant. We were too tired to ask for different rooms as we had already unpacked, and unfortunately, we had a lot of stuff that would’ve needed moved. And the hotel seemed very full, judging by the parking lot. We have stayed at Holiday Inn Expresses before that were perfectly fine, but we will avoid this Holiday Inn location, to avoid a repeat of this experience.
