  For those with a highly sensitive sense of smell, this hotel is hell. The whole place smells like food cooking and it's not the breakfast service. We stayed two nights and realized that everything in our bags stunk. The mattress was past its prime. The halls are dirty and haven't been vacuumed in forever. I laid down towels in the room to avoid the carpet in there. The bathroom is ok except in the first room they gave us where the bathroom smell about put me on my butt. The food smell, not bathroom smells. Location pretty darn good but the imminent tear down and rebuild of the Blatnik bridge could be troublesome when it happens.

  My daughter Michelle and I stayed at holiday express. Very nice stay. Clean room and beds were very comfortable. I will definitely stay again. Great staff delicious breakfast what a great time.

  I gave this place 5 stars across the board, however this is untrue howI felt about the rooms and service in the beginning until I checked out on Friday July 31st in the morning by the agent that took my situation very seriously. I will not disclose the issue on here, but it was something that would make a customer extremely upset. I forgot the agents name, but he made sure to take care of the situation without hesitation and went above and beyond to correct my issue. I’ll say this other hotels should follow procedure exactly like this hotel did. I will absolutely stay here again 10/10 for the crew and house keeping.

  ✅Clean ✅Safe ✅ Quiet Stayed here with my family when I showed them around Duluth. It was a good experience for the price. But I had to take a star off because the bathroom wasn’t spanking clean as other holiday inns. And front desk didn’t “thank” me for my loyalty status when I checked in 😟

  If you go back maybe a year ago you can see quite a few people said what they like about this hotel was "the view of the water" Well they plunked an apartment complex or something between the lake and the hotel. The beds were comfortable and clean. The room was clean. Breakfast was ok. You can walk across the street and do the hiking/bike trail on the lake which was kind of cool. The neighborhood itself was a bit yuk. We walked to the Asian restuarant by the hotel and the food was kind of yuk. Try the new Pho place or Perkins instead. Some staff were very friendly.
