Place is clean and the breakfast good.
But, our stay was for 3 nights and Housekeeping never came in. Not to clean or make beds. The in room coffee was never replenished. Garbage cans were never emptied. No clean towels. We had to go to the front desk and get our towels. Very disappointed.

I had a wonderful experience with the team at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Rhinelander during the Hodag Music Festival weekend.
I unexpectantly needed a quiet place where I could get some work done during the day, and the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome.
A special thank you to Trevor, the property manager, whose professionalism and genuine kindness really stood out. It's rare to find someone so committed to helping people and creating a welcoming environment. He made what could have been a stressful situation incredibly easy.
I'd also like to recognize Dayita at the front desk. Every interaction with her was met with a smile, kindness, and a willingness to help. She is an outstanding representative of the hotel and made me feel welcome every time I stopped by.
Exceptional customer service is becoming harder to find these days, but Trevor and Dayita reminded me what true hospitality looks like. Their willingness to help, their professionalism, and their friendly attitudes left a lasting impression. The next time I'm in Rhinelander, they'll certainly be at the top of my list when I need a place to stay.

One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had.
I arrived at approximately 1:20 a.m. after updating my reservation through the IHG app to indicate a late check-in. Instead of a smooth check-in, I experienced a complete breakdown of basic hotel procedures.
I was first assigned a room where the keys didn't work. I was then given an emergency key for that same room, only to discover it was dirty and had not been cleaned.
Next, I was assigned a second room and again given an emergency key. When I entered, the room was already occupied by another guest. Walking into an occupied room in the middle of the night is a serious guest safety and security failure.
I was then assigned a third room, which was suitable. However, it later became apparent that we had never actually been properly checked into that room. Maintenance entered unexpectedly while my wife was in the shower because the room was apparently still listed as unoccupied.
At no point during any of these incidents did the overnight front desk employee offer a sincere apology or acknowledge the seriousness of what had occurred.
I spoke with the manager while at the hotel, and an incident report was filed with IHG. Since then, I have followed up multiple times over the past weeks with IHG Guest Relations. Each time I've been told the matter was being escalated, yet neither the hotel nor IHG has provided any meaningful response.
Mistakes can happen. A complete breakdown of check-in procedures, guest safety, guest privacy, and then a total lack of accountability afterward is unacceptable. I cannot recommend this property based on my experience.
**Update** Approximately 6 weeks after stay and 2 weeks since hotel replied stating General Manager would be reaching out soon. Will commend Sarah Richardson for following up with review and email. However GM does not appear willing or able to follow up as promised multiple times by IHG Chat and Sarah R.
The property is less than two years old and is still in good condition. The hotel is mostly clean and located in a great spot to take off from for touring the area. The staff was polite and appreciate Sam, at the front desk, efforts to assist when asked. Here are several issues. This is not the least expensive property in Rhinelander. At $193 night my expectations increase. When unpacked I noticed that not a single horizontal surface in the room had been cleaned by the housecleaning staff as evidenced by splash marks and drip residue. This translates to a lazy job by the housekeeper whom we saw only once, in the hallway, texting someone instead of being in a room performing their responsibilities. As I mentioned Sam came up and wiped down the surfaces and cleaned the mirrors which were also skipped. The bathroom as clean. Next day, after touring up north we came back to a room that had not been touched by housekeeping. Bed was unmade, towels were not picked up and replaced, trash was not emptied. Perhaps IHG has taken the tact that they do not have to present a cleaned and organized room each day as is normaly the paradigm in the hotel business. If I was paying a cut-rate that would be one thing, but at $193 per night I expect a lot more. The staff is young and on several occasions there were up to three collected around the front desk chatting and texting instead of cleaning the mud-tracked floor in front of the elevators or emptying the overflowing garbage receptacle located just outside of the main entry. Details like this should not be tolerated by the staff and certainly not the guests. Lastly, while the breakfast was decent it was the exact same both days and the pancake machine was out of order.
Unlike many others my expectations of service and value added have not diminished and I expect to have basic tasks completed as a guest of a property and this property failed to achieve the level of value I expect for the money I paid.
