Beautiful location. Attended a Hindu wedding here, and the food was horrible! Michelle and COHO, the bartenders, had personality plus! Attentive and Fun!

Extremely disappointed with the Edgewater. My now wife and I are Madison residents and have been for our entire lives. I am a local business owner here in Madison and have always held the Edgewater in very high regard and have attended many parties and events there. We made reservations at the Edgewater for the night of our wedding, but my wife ended up becoming ill, so unfortunately we were not able to make it for our stay. We quickly discussed it and decided we would call in the following days to explain the situation which we thought would be understood and they would at LEAST give us a little forgiveness for the reservation.
Edgewater management refused completely and gave us ZERO leniency. Even after explaining the situation they still refused. No credit, no partial refund, nothing. We were extremely disheartened at this because it was a loss of $664 for the evening. They were not understanding or empathetic in the least to our situation. As I said before, I am a local business owner here for 15 years with a large social media presence. I will absolutely be letting everyone in the Madison area know how this experience went.
Hoping the Edgewater staff or management sees this review and does the right thing. Way to go Edgewater for making a special occasion a little less special.

Great hotel on Lake Mendota. We were able to grab an upgrade on a patio first floor, just feet from the shore line. Great sunsets!front desk also granted us a complementary 1 pm checkout. Service was outstanding. Also shoutout to the vault guy, Jason. Rooms were spacious and used great materials. My only complaint is the AC was a bit musty but other than that will definitely come back.
STAY AWAY!!! I REPEAT STAY AWAY!!! this hotel is a complete scam in Madison!!! You will pay for your room! Then be charged for incidentals and no matter what happens once you leave the hotel they take a portion of your deposit of incidentals which is around 25$ of the deposit of incidentals of what you put in even if youve already paid and secured your room and hotel via apps or in person...Even If you leave the room in absolute perfect condition!! I came here for a hotel on a trip and you cant even use the gym unless you also pay money to be a member (gym closes very early and if you want to ice skate they have select times and pay)...They tried to scam me asking me to park there and I asked how much parking was since I only needed 8 hours there and they told me $32 just to park for 8 hours...(I used streat parking which cost me $10) (they tried not to tell me the price, just to park until I asked how much the parking price was....parking in front line summer fest garages or even state fair is much much cheaper... to not tell me 32$ for 8 hours of parking alone is blatent disrespect especially when they take an additional $25 from you as incidentals just for staying at the hotel....an absolute scam!!!! The people at the front desk even struggled speaking english) This place tries to steal as much money as they can from you...Their drinks are over priced...the hotel is over priced and they will find any means to grab as much cash out of you as they can on your way out...STAY AWAY!!!
**updated review** Exact response from hotel management, “You are correct that your Lakeshore King-size bedded room in Langdon Tower looks different from most in our inventory (most of the rooms, which you correctly saw on our website, are in Wisconsin Tower, and do not extend beyond floor 4), I would like to assure you we had good intentions while assigning it to you.” Buyer beware, it’s common practice for this hotel to advertise a room and to give their customers something totally different with the same name. Why wouldn’t they just call the rooms that look different something else? To take advantage of the customer so they could charge the same amount for both yet give a much lower quality? We were offered a refund for our breakfast ($80) and the resort fee ($24).
Stayed there Thursday night in June and reserved the Lakeshore King. In the pictures attached you will see what the website describes at Lakefront King, notice the floor to ceiling windows and view ….be prepared to not have a room even REMOTELY resembling the photos. I can understand some differences but holy cow not even close. On top of that the brag about the view and it being blocked by the large amount of dead bugs and spiderwebs was ridiculous. Staff was nice and breakfast was really good, which is why we did give it three stars.
