Our stay at the Crowne Plaza Seattle had both positives and some significant disappointments. The room size was more than adequate, the bed was extremely comfortable, and the views of the city were beautiful. The location is also a major plus, with the waterfront within easy walking distance.
Unfortunately, the overall experience did not live up to the price of the hotel. The room advertisement felt somewhat misleading, and the room itself was slightly outdated. Our showerhead was leaking terribly, and maintenance had to come to the room to repair it while we were trying to get ready and rush to a dinner reservation. The towel rack placed in the shower was also strange...allowing the towels to become damp prior to use.
We were also disappointed to learn that room service is no longer available. The wait to get into the hotel restaurant was absurdly long, which made the lack of room service even more frustrating.
The elevator system was probably one of the most annoying parts of our stay. Even just trying to get to the lobby in the morning involved extremely long waits. When an elevator finally arrived, it was already full, forcing us to wait another five minutes or more for the next one. The entire elevator system felt inefficient and incredibly frustrating.
The valet parking experience was also disappointing at check out. We paid for valet parking, only to find that the valet was unable to drive our manual transmission vehicle. My husband ultimately had to go into the valet parking garage and retrieve the vehicle himself. If we are paying for valet service, we certainly don't expect to have to retrieve our own car.
Most concerning, there was feces in the hallway. I immediately notified a staff member, but when we returned to the hotel hours later, it was still there. That is completely unacceptable for any hotel, especially one charging these prices.
While the location, city views, room size, and comfortable bed were definite positives, this hotel simply was not worth the price we paid. Between the maintenance issue, lack of room service, restaurant wait, frustrating elevators, valet experience, and outdated room, the overall experience fell well below our expectations.
