Large, quiet refreshed room. Dish TV service is sketchy. Breakfast buffet is good but not included in your stay. Dinner menu is limited.

Made our reservation using Priceline which was 40 dollars cheaper than the IHG App. However the rooms with outside access were not available to us, free breakfast not available either. Rooms were clean, staff was polite and helpful, except for the front desk who fibbed about the rooms not being available.

The AC has apparently been out of service for several years. While the guest rooms are reasonably cool, the restaurant, dining area, lobby, and conference spaces are uncomfortably warm. I’d recommend planning to spend most of your time in your room unless you enjoy feeling like you’re melting. The lobby printer was another challenge. It appears to have ongoing Wi-Fi issues, and despite following the instructions provided, I was unable to get it to work. Documents repeatedly disappeared from the queue, the system logged me out unexpectedly, and the process became increasingly frustrating. With only one person working the front desk, assistance took quite a while, especially after additional delays caused by a low ink cartridge.I was also surprised to learn they were unable to print even a single page in color. Honestly, I would have gladly paid several dollars per page to avoid having to leave the property and find a print shop. The breakfast was among the most disappointing I’ve experienced at an IHG property. There was no bacon, the eggs appeared to be powdered, and the oatmeal seemed stale. I didn’t see a waffle maker or even peanut butter. Compared with most Holiday Inn Express locations, the breakfast selection felt unusually limited, which was surprising since Holiday Inn properties often offer enhanced dining options or other amenities. To the staff’s credit, they were consistently apologetic, friendly, and genuinely hospitable. Their efforts to help guests were obvious, and they deserve recognition for doing their best under the circumstances.Unfortunately, the hallway carpets were extremely dirty, which seems more like a maintenance and equipment issue than a staffing one. What I find most surprising is that the property appears to sell out regularly while charging around $300 per night. Given the condition of some of the facilities, that pricing is hard to understand.

Prior to our event, I toured the property approximately two weeks before our arrival while traveling to our Washington office. During that visit, I expressed concerns about the lack of air conditioning in the meeting spaces, particularly given the time of year and expected temperatures. I was assured that the conference rooms were not being cooled because they were not in use, and that the air conditioning would be fully operational and the rooms comfortably cooled before our meetings began. Our group occupied approximately 65 sleeping rooms over three nights and held a two-day meeting utilizing one general session room, the River Run Room for meals, and four breakout rooms for concurrent sessions. Unfortunately, the meeting facilities did not meet the expectations that were set. Two of the four breakout rooms had functioning air conditioning; however, the movable air wall separating those rooms was out of alignment and did not operate properly. The primary general session room, the smaller meeting rooms within the main conference hub, the restrooms, the River Run Room, and the restaurant all lacked functioning central air conditioning. To compensate, portable air conditioning units were placed in the Columbia Room where our general sessions were held, and box fans had to be moved between rooms throughout the event to provide some relief. Despite these efforts, the temperature in the main conference room consistently remained between 78°F and 80°F while outdoor temperatures exceeded 100°F. These conditions created an uncomfortable environment for our attendees, negatively impacting the meeting experience, participant engagement, and the overall impression of the venue. Given that these concerns were raised in advance and we were assured they would be addressed before our arrival, the situation was particularly disappointing. In addition to the HVAC issues, we encountered significant challenges with the audiovisual setup. Prior to the event, our AV team coordinated with the hotel to understand what equipment and infrastructure would be available so they could determine what additional equipment needed to be brought onsite. During setup, they discovered the meeting room had only two wall receptacles available and did not have the power distribution unit that had been expected to support the main power source. After waiting a considerable amount of time while hotel staff searched for the unit and attempted to locate their AV technician, we were informed that the hotel did not have the required equipment. To avoid delaying the start of our meeting, our AV team located a power distribution unit available for rent, and I personally drove several miles to retrieve it so setup could be completed. This unexpected issue resulted in unnecessary delays, additional costs, and preventable stress for our team during event setup. Unfortunately, the operational issues extended beyond the meeting space itself. Three of the five meeting rooms were not set according to our agreed-upon room configurations and had to be rearranged upon my arrival before attendees entered the rooms. Additionally, the bottled soda provided for our guests was past its expiration date and had to be replaced. While there were numerous challenges throughout our stay, I do want to recognize the individuals who helped make the best of a difficult situation. Gerald was the saving grace of the entire experience. He was consistently responsive, helpful, and friendly, and he did everything within his ability to address the issues we encountered and improve our experience. Rachel from the Food & Beverage team was also a pleasure to work with and provided excellent service whenever we needed assistance. Overall, the experience fell well short of the expectations established during the planning process and the assurances provided prior to our arrival. While we appreciate the efforts of Gerald and Rachel, the number and significance of the facility and operational issues had a substantial impact on the success of our event and the experience of our attendees.
