  DO NOT TOUCH THE RADIATORS IN THESE ROOMS. I waited until we stayed here a second time on our return trip home, and the same problem happened. One of our members turned up the heat because they were cold and the whole room reeked of cigarette smoke from the radiator blowing. Now nearly 10 days later, we're back here in a different room, on a different floor if that matters, and once again the room was blanketed in such a strong plastic burning smell from the heat being turned on in the room. We had to keep the door open just to try to air out the room. Needless to say, we immediately went down and got a new room. I am now begging my members staying with me to not touch the radiator because I don't want a third time of a horrible smelling room because of these radiators that seriously need to be checked.

  My one star review is solely based off of the man running the front desk tonight. He was not polite, and when I asked about the children eating free, he asked me the ages of my children and proceeded to lie to me and tell me that my oldest (8yr) could not eat for free (even though the website says 11 and under). Our room was not stocked with towels and when my husband asked for 5, he asked for his room number and wrote the amount down on a piece of paper. What, you dont trust a black man with your towels? His attitude was just difficult as I conversed with him and asked him questions about my reservation since it was a bit complicated. There was no tone of hospitality from the start. Who wants service like that? I will say that Brandy (i believe that is her name), from the restaurant, provided excellent service. She is an example of good hospitality. Keep her! She was very thoughtful and attentive.

  At check in I was asked if I was traveling with a furry friend. I said no and that I preferred a room where pets hadn’t stayed. I was told it was a pet friendly hotel and all rooms were pet friendly. Our room was okay but normally, there are rooms, although they may have been occupied. The bathroom did show aging. We opted to eat breakfast downtown and it did not disappoint.

  I have been coming to this hotel over 100 days this year for business. I have experienced other hotels. It may not seem overly modern but, it the best deal in town especially when you add breakfast. You must add the breakfast when you book. The breakfast all week has no fake gimics like pancake machines. Especially tues thru Sunday chef Dave has incredible, fresh breakfast choices with fresh cooked eggs, bacon etc. And oatmeal. Chef Dave makes his own pastries not our of some plastic box. The woman servers that help with fresh coffee and anything you need are incredible. Spend your morning here with Brandi, Robin, Tina. In the evening, get some food with Steve and best bartender Tina. My wonderful guest hosts Betina et al are all so helpful. Rooms are clean. It is central to everything even Costco with easy parking. This is the best kept secret in Winchester and most reasonable. The name brands Hilton, Marriott with their plastic commercial foods are so not worth it. This is an IHG hotel that needs to give this particular hotel its best attention Head to this Holiday Inn SE on Jubal Early Book Now, add breakfast, and Enjoy these wonderful people.
