    Elevator out of order, should have been posted BEFORE I reserve, not after, the hotel should have given discount for this inconvenience, room ok, AC old smelly, should have been cleaned, and the bathtub is very old used, otherwise OK

    So, I scheduled a room via Expedia. We arrived and the elevator was broken and staff tried to accommodate us with a fourth floor room. Sadly, in my 60s with bad knees and bad back, I chose not to stay in the hotel and lost my money. Stay away. No refund was offered.

    We arrived at the hotel and were warmly greeted at check-in and given clear instructions. Unfortunately, that was where things started to go downhill. One of the elevators was out of service, so with a full house, getting up to our room took quite a bit of time. When we finally got there, something immediately felt off. As soon as we opened the door, we noticed an air freshener running on the counter, clearly trying to mask a strong odor. The room smelled like a bar—whatever had happened prior to our arrival hadn’t been properly addressed. Although this was supposed to be one of the nicer rooms, it was not suitable for us to stay in. We spoke with the manager on-site, who was helpful and came to inspect the room with us. She moved us to another room, which we appreciated. However, the second room had its own issue—a constantly running toilet. We managed, but it added to the frustration. Things became more uncomfortable the next morning. While we were at breakfast, a member of the kitchen staff approached my wife and questioned whether our dog was a service animal. We’ve stayed here before with our dog without any issues, and at the time, the dog was not anywhere near the food area. For transparency, the dog is a trained but currently inactive service animal. After we explained this, the staff member walked away without much acknowledgment. This interaction upset my wife, and we reported it to the manager due to the staff member’s approach and tone. If dogs are not allowed in certain areas, there should be clear signage. Otherwise, it creates confusion—especially for a hotel that presents itself as pet-friendly. On a related note, it would be great if the hotel had a fenced-in pet area. It would allow guests to safely play with their dogs without worrying about them running into the street. To end on a positive note, the hotel did adjust our rate to reflect the smaller replacement room, which we appreciated. One final suggestion: adding an overhang at the entrance would make unloading luggage in bad weather much more convenient. Overall, while there were some efforts to make things right, the experience fell short of expectations based on our previous stays.

    Front desk was great at check-in. Best part is large desk and full size fridge for extended stays.
