I just wanted to take a moment to recognize Devante at the Holiday Inn Express in Williamsburg, Virginia. From the moment my family and I arrived for our vacation, he went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed, comfortable, and taken care of.
It’s the little things that can make a hotel stay memorable, and Devante’s kindness, professionalism, and genuine willingness to help truly stood out. He made us feel like more than just guests, and that meant a lot to me and my family.
Thank you, Devante, for helping make our family vacation even more special. Holiday Inn Express is very lucky to have someone like you on their team. Your outstanding customer service did not go unnoticed, and we truly appreciate everything you did for us! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not impressed with this hotel. We checked in and went to the first room. It had a strong odor of mildew. So we went back down to the desk and did get a new room. Bed was clean but not that comfortable and pillows were thin like paper. Took the kids to go to the indoor pool and it is unbearably hot in there. My son who has asthma could not even breathe in the room and all the parents ended up standing outside and watching through the door window. Multiple parents went to the front desk to complain and they said that it is a pool/spa and that is part of the “spa” experience and that usually people only stay for 20-25 minutes. I have never heard this before and they actually had some type of machine in the corner of the pool area pumping heat into the pool room. Breakfast was terrible. Food was cold even though it was dishes to keep them warm. Location was nice but won’t be returning to this location.

Great location near many resturants, convience stores, and gas. However me and my family had two rooms over the past weekend and this hotel was not up to par. Room one had a brown stain on the shower that I had to return downstainrs for a cleaner one, the tub looked like it may have been sprayed but not wiped off, the shower head was rusty and water pressure was sub par. Room two was the worst; multiple stains on the sheets even even recieving "clean" ones, dust coming off the toilet holder. Both bathrooms in each room were not acceptable far as cleanliness. One of my family members woke up to three bites on her shoulder which eveyone knows is bed bugs clusters the day of checking out. I would not come back to this hotel again. I give it a two star for location and one older gentlemen employee who made sure we had clean towels, washcloth, and handtowels when needed.

Keep driving.. Go to Hilton or another name brand hotel. Fridge in room snored louder than I did. Exhaust fan in bathroom was noisy and did not work. Damage on walls, ceiling, floors, stains and room was unclean. Toilet seat old and loose. The first room they attempted to give us smelled of mold. Had to go back to front desk to get another room. Phone in room was not clean. Damage on bathroom door and wall paper was peeling off areas of the room. There is a sign that says free sundries, but front desk says there is no toothpaste? When we arrived there was 2 people in the back of the parking lot sitting on the curb smoking. Not sure if they worked here but seems like that is the hangout for many in the neighborhood to hang out. The so called filtered water from the fitness center was not filtered and did not taste like water. Visible water damage dimples in the popcorn ceiling. We attempted to open the room window but it was filthy. Have to mention the bathroom again as it was not clean on our arrival and the toilet system would run and run and not stop. Tried to jiggle the handle but did not work. Just heard the upstairs flush and when other rooms come and go, their doors slam and there is no insulation or rubber under the main room door so it is very loud in your room. We used points to comp the room, but now I feel like I want those points back. It is clear the staff here have gotten lazy or the management just do not care anymore. The so called lemon water in the lobby made my stomach upset all night. The mattresses were indeed extremely cushy but so much we could not sleep or rest. The sheets were not cotton but poly so back and forth from hot to cold. Horrible experience and we can now add Holiday Inn to the list of places we will indeed NEVER stay again. Free or not, there is no excuse for this and on top of that to even charge for it.
UPDATE: Wife made me call customer relations, was told sorry and local general manager will be notified of problems, issues and was asked to accept 10K points for another free stay at IHG properties?

This was a great place to stay. We felt the hotel was well located for the main attractions in Williamsburg. We checked in on Sunday, July 19th, and checked out on Friday, July 24th. Unfortunately, I didn't get the name of the gentleman who checked us in on Sunday, but he was awesome. Very friendly and helpful. He was very informative and explained everything without me needing to ask questions. The room was really clean, felt like it had a good amount of space for the 4 of us (2 adults and 2 teenage boys). The only knock on the room is that it felt a little too dark. 1 or 2 brighter lights would go a long way. The breakfast was good, easy to navigate, and always warm. The pool was relaxing and had enough room even if it was a little crowded. The staff was extremely helpful and was always friendly. The only knocks I would give the hotel as a whole are that the fitness center could be a little better equipped with weight selection and a bench, and that the hotel should have a way to recycle bottles and cans. Not enough of a problem, though, that would affect my overall ranking. Would definitely recommend staying here.
