Our party had 2 seperate rooms, but ended up being attached with a door. When we first arrived, my daughters room had 2 gigantic cockroaches actively dying under the counter in the bathroom. My room on the other hand, the bathroom smelled like weed. Both issues were reported. My daughter was changed to another room immediately. For my room, they first wanted to check out the smell before giving me another room. Weed smell alone makes me sick and I had to tell the front desk person this on top of the fact I did not want a room that had an joining room with roaches. It took a few min for him to understand, but he did give us a room. I spent 2 nights worrying if we were going to take any extra guests home with us. The carpets for the entire building are in need of replacing or severe scrubbing. The bathtub handle to turn the water on leaked. The pool is listed as heated on the website, but me, my daughters, and granddaughter were shivering the entire time we were in the pool (less than 30 min). If it is heated, the heater is not working properly.
For the two nights we stayed - elevator was broken, ice marker on our floor was broken, no tissues in bathroom, tub leaked and didn’t drain properly, toilet was lose. $35 to check in at 2pm so we checked in at 9:30 for no charge. Breakfast was okay.

DO NOT STAY HERE. The only thing “decent” about this “hotel” is the location since we were going to Busch Gardens.
It is falsely advertised as a “newly renovated hotel with fitness amenities and hot buffet breakfast”. Upon arrival to check in, we asked about breakfast and were told that the kitchen is “currently” being renovated and that there is no stove so grab and go breakfast would be placed in lobby. In addition, when asked about the mentioned fitness facility we were also told “it was under renovation”. Communication to guests would have been the ethical and professional step to take to inform them that the hotel is “under renovation”.
I wish this is where the red flags and disappointment ended. After leaving reception area, it was apparent from musty smells, trash filled hallways/elevator and the dirt on the floors, that it was not being renovated let alone managed properly. It did not look like it was ever cleaned. We were given three different rooms before we found one that we could stay in since we arrived at night time. After unpacking, I went to use the bathroom in the room for the first time and there were tiny, curly black hairs all over the toilet seat. The carpets were disgusting and the tubs felt like there was sand in it. Not to mention, there is a train that is right next to this hotel that runs throughout the night.
We only initially booked it given the advertisement and it is in an inclusion package with Busch Gardens. I regret booking this hotel and urge others to stay clear of this hotel.
The location is excellent but that's the only positive from the stay. We arrived and found garbage and leftover food in our refrigerator along with substandard cleaning. The bathroom had no shampoo and the front desk had none to offer as well. I thought that was bad enough but then came the breakfast. No hot breakfast they closed it and said they would have one tomorrow. Cereal really wasn't cutting it and the following day once again no hot breakfast. The final straw was the pool. The air temperature in the pool area is about 60* and the water is 65*. Virtually unusable for any length of time. Contacted the front desk, management and Best Western directly but nothing was done. Don't go here.
The location is the only good thing about this place. I’ve only been here for about 3 hours and I already want to leave.
From the moment I checked in, things felt off. The breakfast area is closed even though breakfast is supposed to be included, which was the first letdown.
Then during check-in, the front desk guy told me he needed to go to my room before giving me the keys to make sure everything was okay. That alone was weird and honestly a red flag.
When I got into the room, it wasn’t even what I booked. I reserved a queen bed and was given two separate full beds. When I questioned it, I was told that a “queen” basically means two full beds to them, which makes no sense and wasn’t stated anywhere when booking.
A few minutes later, someone (maintenance or housekeeping) walked straight into the room without knocking. No warning at all. That’s a huge invasion of privacy. What if someone had been changing, or if a minor was in the room? That should never happen.
Then we go to shower and realize there aren’t even shower curtains installed, so the shower is basically unusable.
At that point, I went to the front desk to ask to check out and get a refund, especially since the room also didn’t feel clean. I explained everything, including someone walking into the room, and it felt like it wasn’t taken seriously at all. I got a very dismissive apology and was offered 10% off, which honestly felt insulting given the situation.
I asked to speak to a manager and was told I’d have to wait until tomorrow, which doesn’t work for me since I’m traveling and leaving early.
To make things worse, I came back to the room and noticed there’s still trash from previous guests left behind, which just confirms it wasn’t properly cleaned.
Again, I’ve been here less than 3 hours and already can’t wait to leave. This has been a really frustrating and uncomfortable experience.
