We booked this hotel for 3 nights expecting to have calm time near the ocean. But it was probably the worst hotel we had ever been to :( For $350 per night we expected at least good breakfast, clean rooms and quiet neighbours. But the only good thing was only the clean room. The breakfast room was always so dirty and messy that it was impossible to even sit at the table, because nobody was cleaning them, same with the whole breakfast area. It is not even the hotel, it’s a motel, which is extremely overpriced. It is very old and in bad condition, starting from reception, elevator, rooms. They tried to renovate a bit the rooms, but still, for $350/night, you expect a fully different experience with the place you’re staying in. The staff is mostly young teenagers, who don’t care about the cleanliness or service or anything like that. The neighbours next door were fighting half of our first night. For breakfast, they offer only bagels, waffles and buns, no eggs, no sausages. None protein at all. I had a hard time with my stomach all three days:( We are very disappointed, unfortunately.

My family and I had a terrible experience at this hotel. Water leaked under the air conditioning unit, the security lock was broken, the restroom door was non-functional, and the stove was not working. Despite reporting these issues to the front desk, we were given another room with the same problems. We drove 9 hours to get there and were exhausted. Priceline tried to reach a manager, but he was unavailable. They offered a refund for the remaining two nights, but the first night would be charged $269. I argued that it was unfair to charge for the worst room, but the manager said he would talk to Priceline. Staff from Priceline said a manager will have another a $100 discount, which I did not get . the hotel and Priceline played games and delayed the refund. I wasted my time and money, and it ruined my family’s vacation for that night . I will never recommend this hotel and need it to be investigated for overcharging.

My husband and I came to VA beach for the first time from WV for a last minute get away to celebrate our birthdays. We were able to get a room with a king bed at Sure Stay, on the 4th floor with the perfect ocean view directly one street over! We stayed Thursday-Sunday and paid just under $600! We were a little skeptical due to some bad reviews BUT most are not recent and the hotel has done many updates and improvements since then. The rooms & bathroom were super clean, and smelled good. They are basic, but have everything you would need, and if they don’t the management staff in the front probably does. The curtains are room darkening, we rarely heard other guests and the ones we did see were kind. The AC was ice cold our entire stay. I didn’t see a single bug inside. They have a coin washer and dryer, ice machines, and vending machines for snacks and drinks. The pool is small but wasn’t overcrowded at all during our stay. They also have an outside shower by the pool. They have free WiFi, dish (push the channel surfing buttons to change channels), and parking with 2 small lots and one large one, so no worries about not finding a spot. Because of how affordable it was, we were not expecting housekeeping or cleaning until we left. However, all of the housekeepers we met were super sweet and accommodating. They made our bed, took out and replenished our towels/washcloths without asking. We think this may be the best spot on the North Side simply for the location & price- steps from the beach, restaurants and shops but not in the heart of the hustle and bustle. The management staff were super friendly and welcoming! We like to stay up late and sleep in so we weren’t usually up in time for the continental breakfast, but we thought that was such a nice bonus! We got most food to go, but we LOVED Los Paloma’s (margs were pricy but WORTH IT) Waterman’s Oceanfront grille (got twice- delicious and affordable compared to similar places) and Dough boys pizza 10/10! Would definitely stay here again!

Had used other BW hotels and this was one of the more disappointing ones. Cheaper than other hotels nearby but come with multiple caveats: - checked in by someone who was incompetent. He had to call another person at 1AM when we checked in to ask about how to use their system, then had to call a second time. Parking decal - he only added his initials and no date or plate number. When asked if he could give me a printed receipt he said he didn’t know how. Made me go through and sign documents with the same questions I had answered through their pre checking link, when asked why I would have to do this again he said he didn’t know. - parking: terrible parking situation. Extremely tight spaces that some cars double parked. Couldn’t even open door to get out of car bc of how tight the spaces are. - room: pillows and blankets are super thin. Shower was missing one sliding door so flooded every time. Visible mold around shower pan corners and the small bench in the shower. Exhaust fan didn’t seem to work although was making noises, if you look at it you can find more black dirt/mold on the cover. Towels are very thin. - pool: very small, outdoor so inconvenience if you can’t go to the beach when it rains and now you can’t use the pool either - breakfast: extremely small area, only one waffle maker causing long line, no meat or eggs, only carbs - bagels and prepackaged pastries, cereal, yogurt. Coffee was very diluted. Only fruits available were oranges and few bananas that always seemed to run out. We ended up going to Dunkin and nearby restaurants. - only one elevator for the entire building and it was very slow We were only grateful the AC worked (although very loudly) and there was hot water (although very low pressure). We won’t come back
