  Nicki at the front desk is absolutely amazing. She took care of us and made sure we were okay and had everything we needed to have a great night. More places need people to work for them like Nicki. She is the exact image of what a business needs to survive. Having worked in retail, I know how important surveys and reviews are, Nicki is amazing. I would come back to this location just because of her. Nicki truly is someone I would have her as a top employee. Whatever she is being paid is not enough. She deserves a raise. She’s amazing.

  Amazing service the staff were amazing i stayed for a month and everything was taken care of by the hotel. Anjani was amazing the minute i had any question she was ready with am answer. Thank you for the stay if i come back i will be booking with them again. Thank you again Anjani

  We stayed at the hotel in Virginia Beach for a short vacation. The room was clean, the bedding was clean and the towels were dry. The front desk people are nice, courteous and polite. They answered all of our questions. The only downside was the breakfast. The omelette made from the egg powder (GMO staff). Are you for real? I am almost certain that the powder that they buy doesn’t cost less than a few whole eggs. They are making inedible blob of something and calling it an omelette. Now let me tell you about the pork sausage and bacon bits that they are serving to the guests. I am wondering if they tried that concoction themselves. Most likely didn’t because human beings should not consume whatever they are serving under the name of “pork sausage “. I tried the oatmeal and it was the overcooked version of oatmeal that stuck to my spoon. The blueberry muffins sounded delicious until I tried it. And couldn’t even swallow this and it went right in the garbage. Coffee… they have 2 machines that make coffee. Sounds exciting and promising…until you try. One sip is more than enough to realize that it is not a coffee, it is just brown water. No amount of sugar and milk helped the situation. It is just not right to have coffee beans in the machine and make it a super diluted cup of brown water. Maybe they need to program this machine differently and it will produce nice cup of black coffee/espresso. Thank goodness we traveled without our kids. It would be a disaster. I booked this hotel with a complimentary hot breakfast and end up visiting Vlove coffee shop across the street. Because I rely on delicious hot breakfast, i paid $30 each morning to the nicest people at Vlove. I would love to come back to Virginia Beach next year and would gladly include Garner Hotel on the list of possible places to stay, but unfortunately I can’t promise that until they change the breakfast situation completely. I am not even taking to add some fresh fruits (not just apples), get some fresh tomatoes, plums, seasonal fruits and vegetables. Just fix whatever they have right now. The simple way to fix that is get the staff with the skillet and have them cook the omelettes/fried the eggs to order. The lady who tend the breakfast area was in her little room, greeting those 3 people, who come for breakfast. Nothing else because the area is sterile( because no one goes there for breakfast). I really would like to love this hotel, but for now it is a huge NO to return there.

  I went to check in a couple of days ago around 1 PM and spoke with a young Indian woman at the front desk who had her hair in a ponytail. I was willing to pay extra for an early check-in, but unfortunately, the interaction was very unpleasant. I simply asked about the parking situation and was told there was one parking spot per person. It wasn’t what she said, but the rude and disrespectful attitude she had while explaining it that bothered me. After I walked away, she got on the phone and started speaking about me in Hindi, not realizing that I was still sitting in the lobby near the coffee machine and understood what she was saying. I found that extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. After that experience, I was so upset that I decided not to proceed with checking in at all. Customer service makes a huge difference, especially when someone is simply asking questions and trying to get settled. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would give it 0/10 and would not recommend.
