  I have stayed at many IHG properties around the world, and unfortunately this was one of my most disappointing Holiday Inn experiences. The front desk agent, Tom, was particularly unwelcoming and indifferent throughout both check-in and check-out. At check-in, I was simply told that an award stay could not be upgraded, with no meaningful recognition of my IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite status. I was also not given my breakfast vouchers and had to deal with that separately. The experience at check-out was equally disappointing. Since I had a late flight, I asked about leaving my luggage with the hotel. Tom simply told me to leave the bags beside the front desk. He did not get up to assist, provide luggage claim tags, or offer any sense that the bags were being formally checked into storage. As a frequent traveler, I found this particularly concerning from both a service and security standpoint. I had originally planned to have dinner at O’Malley’s before going to the airport and asked whether my folio could remain open so the restaurant charge could be posted to my room. There was no willingness to accommodate this, so I ultimately cancelled my dinner plans at the hotel. I understand that upgrades are subject to availability and that hotels have their own operational procedures. My disappointment is therefore not simply about not receiving an upgrade. It is about the overall lack of hospitality, recognition, communication, and willingness to help. As a Diamond Elite member who stays frequently with IHG, I certainly do not expect special treatment at every stay—but I do expect basic courtesy and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was largely missing here. This was easily one of the poorest front-desk experiences I have had at an IHG property. Management should seriously review the service standards and elite-member recognition at this hotel.

  The service at the hotel is absolutely horrible. I was told 3 times before check-in that cash was acceptable for incidentals but upon check in the front desk said it wasn’t. And I checked out 5 days ago, and it took me calling the hotel to finally releasing the incidental hold just for them to say it will take 5-7 business days to get back to me.

  Room is peaceful and easy access. The AC fan is permanently on so we could not turn the heater/cooler system off entirely, even though it says OFF. Bed was decent. The bedding sheets felt vert slightly damp. Not dried sufficiently. The breakfast was very good and the staff waiter: Walter was very friendly and professional, a credit to the hotel. Well done.

  Love this location for its easy access to Dulles. Nunu at the bar is the best. Very attentive and a great bartender.

  Woke up to a big cockroach in the kitchen. I only checked in around 7pm and left the next morning around 7am. No open food. Contacted customer service while I was checking out and was told I should have brought up this when I was in the hotel and opened a case saying someone would reach out within 48 hours. No one reached out. That tells you how much headquarter cares.
