  Avoid this hotel if booking through third parties. Terrible experience. I booked a 1-bedroom suite through a third-party platform and selected the "pay at property" option, which gave me until 4 PM the day before arrival to cancel. Despite this, the hotel attempted to charge my card for the full amount the day before I arrived. When I arrived the next day, the front desk claimed I didn’t have a reservation and that I had canceled it. I showed them complete proof on my phone that it was never canceled. They then claimed they were fully booked but offered to "rebook" me. Not only was I forced into a downgraded studio room instead of the 1-bedroom suite I originally paid for, but they also charged me $80 more than my original booking price. Unprofessional, unhelpful, and completely unacceptable service.

  Denise at the front desk was wonderful during check in, informative and accommodating. Clean spacious rooms Meeting rooms And breakfast available. Entrance and parking not ideal, but not excessively problematic.

  Super nice staff, Denise was very friendly and helpful! Couldn't if asked for better service, thank you! The rooms are nice with a kitchenette, microwave, stovetop, full fridge and dishwasher. Very clean too.

  First of all when I called before I checked in Tay the front desk clerk was polite When I arrived I was treated so special I would love to come stay at Candlewood again I loved it and will return whenever I come to Richmond Rooms were beautiful and very clean I was there with the Cycle Kings National Event I had a wonderful time Thanks again to the wonderful staff…… from Ms Freda🌺💕 Rm#119

  Attempted to book multiple rewards nights rooms with this Candlewood suites, the front desk clerk asked for my ID and payment method to "verify stay" and see if there were other rooms available. He finished checking me in prior to telling me there was only the one available. I prompted him to cancel my stay. Maybe it's my fault, maybe I should have verified the guy was going to check me in prior to answering any avialability questions. But I shouldn't have to do so. I was not refunded the rewards night, was not refunded anything. Do not use this hotel for IHG rewards stays, there are also better hotels than this one to stay in locally. Animals were wandering in and out of the hotel lobby, stray cats were being fed by the staff just outside the property, it smelled of wet dog in the lobby. Not a good experience.
