- RWRob WhitneySep 6, 20265.0Great hotel with easy access to/from I-95. EXTREMELY CLEAN! Lobby, elevator, halls, room, breakfast area, parking lot... all clean and very well maintained. Everything in the room worked as it should. Desk staff (check in & out) was very friendly and helpful. "Breakfast lady" was very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was everything you expect. If you're early enough for dinner, there's a good Mexican restaurant and Coldstone across the street. I'd recommend this Holiday Inn Express highly!

The location is perfect if you're catching the Auto Train — it's right next door — and it's also super convenient to the freeway for easy access. Unfortunately, both our room and the hallway had a persistent damp/musty smell that we couldn't ignore. It didn't ruin the stay, but it's worth mentioning for anyone sensitive to that kind of thing. Might be worth the hotel looking into ventilation or moisture issues in that area. Would consider staying again given the convenience and friendly staff, but hoping the smell gets addressed.

Breakfast seemed to run out at least 30 minutes before the official closing time, and the lady working there would simply say there was no more food in stock. This happened repeatedly and was quite annoying. On a positive note, one of the front desk staff members, Andrew, I believe, was really nice and helpful. He apologized for the breakfast issue and added a $10 credit for one night, which I appreciated. Overall, the stay was okay, but the breakfast service definitely needs improvement.
