  I am astonished I stay at this hotel at least twice every 3 months on my way back and forth to NC The facility is clean , the staff is pleasant. The rate is $89.00 per night. We like it there. On October 10 th I called to get a room . The staff member told me they were almost full, but had 2 rooms left . The rate she quoted was $260.00!!! This is a true example of price gauging. 2.5 times more for the same room! This is a Best Western in a commercial part of Fredericksburg The Baltimore Waterfront Hotels are going for that same price. I am so upset. I am a disabled Senior. I can’t afford those prices for a one night stay. We found a Days Inn Wyndham for $79.00 down the street.

  I don’t leave reviews often, but when I do, it’s gotta be something special im telling you. I’m not one to need extremely fancy things to be satisfied. I just need them to function properly. This hotel is exactly that. Shower was life-changing. I’m about to Go get dinner on foot because it would be nonsense to drive when everything is right beside you. And personally, my favorite is as soon as you walk out of your room you’re outside. BAM If you smoke in the room you’re just plain ole dumb.

  We’ve been staying at this Best Western off and on for probably 15–20 years. It’s almost exactly halfway between Pittsburgh and the North Carolina beach we visit, so when we don’t feel like making the entire drive, this has become our regular stopping point. The location right off I-95 is extremely convenient. It is an older hotel, and the room layout definitely reflects that — more of a traditional 1980s-style hotel room with two beds, the TV between them, a small sink area, and a compact bathroom. That part is obviously difficult to change, but they’ve done a nice job refreshing the rooms recently with newer carpet, linens, draperies, and other updates. Everything has always been clean and comfortable. One of the biggest highlights is the outdoor pool. It is genuinely one of the cleanest and nicest hotel pools I’ve seen, even compared with much more expensive hotels. My daughter actually learned to swim in that pool, so we have some great memories here. It’s also an excellent hotel if you travel with dogs. The rooms open directly to the outside, so instead of walking down hallways, taking an elevator, and going through a lobby every time the dog needs to go out, you can just step outside. There are also quiet residential neighborhoods directly behind the hotel that are great for taking the dogs for a walk. They’ve recently added a very good hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, yogurt, and plenty of other choices. There are also several good smaller restaurants within walking distance, so once we park for the night, we usually don’t have to get back in the car. After nearly two decades of stopping here, it has been remarkably consistent — clean, convenient, pet-friendly, a great pool, and now a solid breakfast as well. For us, it’s the perfect overnight stop on the way to or from the beach.

  We spent 5 nights at this wonderful place waiting on car repairs. Had to extend stay each night as repairs dragged on. Preston the front desk person was so helpful juggling reservations to all ow is to stay in the same room. He made an uncomfortable experience a great one. Breakfast was delicious with menu changing every day. Rooms were very clean and everyone was so helpful to stranded travelers.
