Needs improvement. No coffee maker or ice bucket in the room. Common areas are not clean. Bare bones. Beds were comfortable. Modest breakfast.

The location is great if you are going to Kings Dominion. It's a much better option that the two other hotels that are along the train track. We did not hear the train at all. The hotel itself seemed nice and looked clean in the lobby area. It was quiet and the front desk clerk was friendly and prepared. The room design for a single king bed was good, and it had a really nice walk in shower. !! Cleanliness !! I am not sure who cleaned the room we stayed in, but I would classify them as the type of person who sweeps dirt under rugs and calls it good. The bathroom seemed ok at first, with a few hairs that looked like they were missed near the sink. Normal right? Nobody is perfect. Then I found a trail of small black curly hairs along the shower doors. I took a towel and shoved it all into a corner. Definitely not what you want to do when are starting to relax The bed...... The top sheets and pillow were clean, but there was a layer of dirt and hairs between the sheet and fitted sheet.very gross and unacceptable to find at a hotel that charges around $160 after tax for 1 night.

Booked here because it was right across from Kings Dominion. All employees were great friendly for the days we stayed. The rooms, hallways, bathrooms were just ok nothing special and needed some TLC touch ups and care.

I stay here alot for work cause it's the cheapest hotel within an hour of my work that's on IHG rewards, I've only been staying here a few weeks 3 nights a week but it seems my room is always missing something. One week I checked into a room with no microwave, the manager went and got me a microwave and now I'm here another week in a different room and I'm missing the mini fridge waiting on them to bring me one or put me in a room that has the fridge it's supposed to. I stopped at foodlion after work to get groceries for the week and my stuff Is sitting in the floor thawing while I wait. You would think if the room is missing key items like that you wouldn't put someone in them. *edit the worker just left after finding and delivering me a fridge, so he's cool but my question still stands why would you book a room missing key items in the first place

I rarely leave reviews, but this stay absolutely deserves one—and not in a good way. From the moment we arrived, things went downhill. After juggling luggage and kids to get to our room, we discovered our key cards didn’t work. When we went back to the front desk, we were told, “everyone’s cards reset at 11 daily whether you have multiple days or a single so you have to come back and get it back on every day.” This is not only inconvenient, it’s completely unacceptable for a hotel stay. Guests should not have to reprogram their room keys daily. Housekeeping policies were just as frustrating. When we requested clean towels, we were told we had to physically bring down our dirty towels just to exchange them. That’s not service—that’s making the guest do the work. The issues didn’t stop there. We found a roach in the fold-out bed where our children were supposed to sleep. That alone is enough to question the cleanliness and safety standards of this hotel. Breakfast was another major disappointment. On the first day, the employee preparing food wasn’t wearing gloves, which immediately made us uncomfortable enough to leave without eating. Not to mention the fact you have to cut your bagel with a knife and not a bagel cutter, you know safe for children right? On the second day, a different employee was present—he was polite and seemed to care, but clearly had no authority to fix any of the underlying problems. He was the only bright spot in an otherwise poor experience. Even the atmosphere was unpleasant. The hallways constantly smelled like marijuana, which is especially concerning for a property advertised as smoke-free. To top it off, a staff member casually said, “Sometimes you have to shake this thing a little bit,” referring to the cereal dispenser. That pretty much sums up the overall condition and professionalism of this place. The only redeeming quality is its proximity to Kings Dominion. However, convenience is not worth the lack of cleanliness, poor service, and overall experience. If I weren’t an IHG member, I would have chosen one of the other nearby options—and next time, I absolutely will, even if it means driving from a neighboring town. I will be attaching photos to support this review. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
