Unfortunately, my family and I had a very disappointing stay at the Best Western in Doswell, Virginia. We were given two key cards, but one did not work (reset twice and it wasn’t fixed ). For a family of five, we were provided with very few towels, and when I requested more, I was told the hotel was at capacity and could only provide one additional towel. The bathroom door also would not close properly.
The biggest issue was the laundry room. I paid $8 for quarters, detergent, and dryer sheets, only to discover that the only washing machine was not working. When I reported it, management offered to reimburse me only $3. At that point, I was extremely frustrated and decided to leave the hotel. my main concern was the inconvenience and wasted time. Staff should notify guests immediately when a washing machine is out of service or place a clearly visible sign on the machine. This would prevent guests from spending money, detergent, and valuable time attempting to use a machine that is not working.
The breakfast was average, and I would rate the cleanliness and customer service around 5/10. My main concern is that a hotel located next to a busy amusement park should be better prepared to accommodate its guests, especially on weekends. A broken washer should also have been clearly marked so guests do not waste their time and money.
Overall, I would not recommend this hotel.

Windows leaking, very dirty in common areas, laundry down, slow staff, and the lobby bathrooms were dirty and there was not toilet paper or paper towel.

The hallway is dark, can barely see anything and we got into the room and found lots of ants and told the staff and they switched us to a different room. And we were going to the room she switched us, while packing up. They already assigned someone else to our room that has lots of ants. And when we went to our new room, the toilet wouldn’t flush and told the staff and she looked frustrated because we did a few complaints. But the maintenance came pretty quick to fix it.
There was mold in our room's AC, the hallway's and the Bobby's ac units, as well as what looked like leaves, rocks, sage, or something. Whatever it was, it doesn't belong in an AC unit, let alone all of them.
The toilet seat wasn't the correct size for the toilet, and the towel holder on the bathroom door fell off as soon as a towel was put on it.
We killed a bug in our room (which I get you cant avoid bugs 100% of the time, but still) and the water pressure in the shower was terrible. The shower was a handicap shower, so maybe I could understand but there were no shelves or anything for our shower stuff.
The bed was slightly comfortable, if you like a bed with springs...my husband and I prefer a memory foam mattress so it wasn't the best sleep for us.
The worst part was there were kids directly above us jumping and being LOUD for over an after after 1030 pm one night (I called the front desk twice), and the day of our check out morning, the same people woke us up at 6:45 am doing the same thing.
Overall, this hotel was way too pricey for how many things went wrong, and I don't feel like I'm being THAT bougie. (I wouldn't have even left a review at all if the ACs didn't have mold and if we could cancel our last night. But alas, we paid for 3 nonx-refundable nights. We have never had such a terrible experience or we wouldn't have agreed to a non-refundable rate.
The best part was it's directly across the street from Kings Dominion, but otherwise, I do NOT recommend this hotel. The breakfast looked pretty decent, so there's that at least. If it was $60 and lower each night, then I would understand you get what you paid for, but I paid way $440 for 3 nights (too much money) to be breathing moldy air and lack of sleep due to noisy neighbors. Travelers beware.
