Apple Sidecar
$14.00
Laird’s Old Apple Brandy, Cointreau, Lemon Juice
This drink dates back to WWI in Paris. An American Army
Captain would often travel to Harry’s New York Bar in the
sidecar of his friend’s motorbike in search of a a drink to warm him
up before dinner. Straight cognac was not seen as an appropriate
drink so early in the evening so the bartender mixed some
Cointreau and lemon juice with it. We put our own Virginia twist
and incorporated Laird’s Old Apple Brandy from North Garden
Virginia, and combine with Cointreau and lemon juice.

Luxardo cherry served either on the rocks or straight up.

Strange Monkey Gin, Campari, Sweet Vermouth

enduring testament to his wisdom.

The full 6,000-square-foot Pavilion can easily be transformed into three distinct meeting spaces covering nearly 2,000 square feet for each room. Maneuverable air walls separate each room and provide an accent to the towering ceilings and elegant light fixtures. With the ultimate flexibility, meeting planners can use the entire Pavilion (111x53) or break it down into one meeting block that measures in at a roomy 54x36 square feet or combine two sections for a 54x72 arrangement.
Located in The Pavilion at Boar’s Head Resort, The Boardroom has its own separate entrance at the front of the building with a full glass wall allowing natural light to flow through this 47x23-foot space. Perfect for small to mid-sized corporate meetings, this executive-level room has direct access to the Pavilion’s full kitchen and accommodating services.
Sitting right next door to our larger Pavilion, Ednam Hall has a modern meeting venue that is directly attached to our Ednam hotel rooms. This 61x30 foot meeting space can be separated in the middle by an air wall and has a spacious lobby area just outside the rear doors. If audio/visual is if of the utmost importance, Ednam is a wonderful choice. The front of the venue has a pull-down screen and gas fireplace while the side wall boasts two large screen monitors.
For small corporate meetings, The Rogan Room is all business! Equipped with executive seating for at least a dozen and elegant notepad and pen settings, this room provides a comfortable and classic feel for board meetings, corporate retreats and more. A large format screen offers easy viewing for all attendees, and plush soft seating resides on the outer edge of the large-format conference table offering a welcomed comfort to relax your mind and body.

The northern end of the room has a large format projection screen with the southern side featuring a gas fireplace. There is also a large common area just outside the entrance doors which works well for staging of a bar or food.
Unlike any other meeting space at Boar’s Head, The Madison Room has soft seating along with smaller conference tables and the ability to customize for multiples set-up requests. The uniqueness of this room extends directly up the stairs as it resides just below our legendary Madison overnight suite which is a perfect spot for a CEO or meeting planner to be close to the action. This room and suite are located directly across the street from our main hotel check-in desk.

The Patio room is directly adjacent to our historic Hearth Room but has its own unique appeal including more modern styling and multiple doors that open and connect directly with our lakeside patio that boasts a large gas fire pit and beautiful views of our rolling landscape. Ask about combining the Patio Room with our lakeside patio for your next meeting.
Set the tone with this outdoor venue that resides just below the terrace of the legendary Mill Room Restaurant. The Lakeside Patio is ideal for any outdoor occasion and comes complete with magnificent views and Adirondack chairs that surround a gas fire pit.
A quaint stone path and The Mill Room’s picturesque staircase sets the stage for your venue in our Arbor Courtyard. This lakeside patio is ideal for any outdoor occasion and comes complete with magnificent views and Adirondack chairs that surround a gas fire pit.
ABC Spaces
As a part of our “ABC” configuration (Albemarle, Blue Ridge and Commonwealth Rooms), these rooms are available for independent or combined booking. An adjoining door separates each room to allow direct flow-through from one room to the other.
For a smaller dinner party or quaint celebration, the Albemarle Room is located in our main hotel just up the stairs from our ballroom. Large windows bring in natural light for a bright and festive atmosphere.
Located in our main hotel, the Blue Ridge Room has adjoining doors with the Albemarle and Commonwealth Rooms allowing the space to be flexible for smaller groups needing more than one meeting area in the same proximity.
A unique gas fireplace makes the Commonwealth Room a cozy spot for a winter meeting or dinner party. This room has a connecting door to the Blue Ridge room to allow for added space.
The lawn at Ednam Hall is the premier location for an intimate and elegant outdoor event. Located just outside the Pavilion doors, it is easily accessible to guest and staff.
Heritage Waterfront encapsulates the romance of Boar’s Head Resort, with lakeside views as your backdrop and our scenic bridge as the ideal place for photos.
Named after the picturesque balloon rides that lift off from this venue, this lush, green area with a stunning lake view is the perfect spot for your next outing.
Take advantage of an elegant setting by the pool any time of the year. During the fall and winter you can see our magical trail of lights from the pool deck.

Located in a quiet area of Charlottesville we enjoyed staying here. The spa, tennis courts, gym and pool were exceptional. We loved that the adult only pool had a walk up bar. Our only complaint is that the adult pool had a good amount of bugs every time we went. The rooms were clean, spacious and smelled nice. Walls were pretty thick and we couldn't hear our neighbors. The food was great and we were happy to see the pool menu listed out allergens.

Recently stayed for three nights. The strength of this property is its location with close proximity to Charlottesville and the surrounding attractions. Easy access to the local wine country and nice mountain hiking spots.
Beyond the location, we found this stay to be well below average for a resort at this price point. It markets as a luxury resort, but has more of a medium-tier feel. Rooms are average; the restaurant is below average (recommend a trip to The Clifton...much better dinner experience) with dirty floors, poor service, and a subpar weekday buffet that would fit nicely at a Holiday Inn Express. As an example of the lack of attention to detail, there was a shattered glass bottle outside the entrance to our building that was not cleaned up for at least two days. On one day, our room was not serviced. The hotel's excuse was that they had a large volume of checkouts and had not had time to service our room. I don't believe that hotel management's failure to properly staff their establishment should negatively impact my stay.
Most importantly, DO NOT book any of the "packages." We had a "spa and breakfast" package that promised a 50-minute massage per person ($320 value) and free breakfast daily. We learned upon arrival that we were only being given a $250 spa credit. After several back and forth conversations, they did cover the massages, but it reflected poorly on their business practices. Additionally, our breakfast for one day of our stay was still on our bill despite having the package. Had I not reviewed the bill closely at checkout, we would have been charged ($100 for a subpar breakfast buffet of cereal, pastries, and overcooked scrambled eggs with no options for made-to-order food) for something that was part of the package. The front desk's excuse was that their system is very poor at linking packages and charges. It is all done manually, so if you do book a package, do a very detailed review of your bill.
Bottom line, the only strength of this resort is its location. Beyond that, the value is not there. I would recommend looking elsewhere for accommodations.
