President Brigham Young lived in this home in St. George, Utah, during the winter months from 1870 to 1877. The adjacent office was built to facilitate the work of preparing the sealing and endowment temple ordinances for the dead, conducted for the first time in the St. George Utah Temple. The home and adjacent office have been restored and furnished to reflect their 1870s appearance. - CNChris NeelSep 24, 20264.0⭐⭐⭐ ⭐️ The Brigham Young Winter Home is an interesting stop for anyone wanting to learn more about the history of St. George and the early pioneers who settled this area. While my wife and I have no personal interest in LDS teachings, we certainly admire the hard work, discipline, determination, and craftsmanship of these early pioneers. The quality of workmanship throughout the home is impressive, especially considering the time period and difficult conditions under which it was built. A great deal of effort has clearly gone into preserving and restoring this home as an important piece of Utah and American history and culture. That dedication to historical preservation is something we appreciated. Best of all, admission is FREE. If you enjoy history, architecture, and learning how early settlers lived, it is certainly worth a stop while visiting St. George.
