Amazing new temple walk through model. Where else can you take a selfie in a temple baptismal font or in the "eternity mirrors"? Definitely worth a stop. Very handicap friendly. Also, immaculate restrooms open to the public. 😜

This was a really beautiful experience for me and my kids. I loved the exhibits about temples all around the world and the temple experience tour was beautifully done. For anyone who in interested in learning more about what happens inside temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this will give you a chance to get a feel for it and ask questions. If you would like to better understand temples and the beliefs of members of this church, this will be a great opportunity for you. And they will not pressure you meet with missionaries or anything, so come and learn without fear of having to say no to anything. I've seen reviews saying this is hard to find right now and that is pretty true, though if you ask any of the people on temple square, they can help you find it quickly, which is what we did. I also saw complaints about needing to reserve tickets to have a temple experience and it's true that there is a way to reserve tours but you can just get in the standby line without tickets and you'll probably only have to wait 10-20 minutes unless it's a weekend (even then I was told it's usually only 30 minutes at most because they start a new tour every 10 minutes). We didn't realize that you could register for tours (and that the tours are booked out a few months) until after we got there, but we talked to the people there and they invited us to get in the standby line and we only waited for 10 minutes or less and then got to go on the tour. If you're not in a huge rush, you can do the tour without a reservation and it's totally worth the wait.

This has become one of my favorite places in Salt Lake City! From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by so many people! Everything I saw there is focused on Jesus Christ and helping anyone feel His love! I noticed that people have said that it is impossible to see inside the Visitor's Center without tickets. I personally have been there six times without a ticket. While tickets are recommended, there is a fast moving standby line for anyone and the wait time is generally less than 20 minutes (at least, every time I have been there.) A tour in the lower level of the Visitor's Center helps explain the meaning and purpose behind temples and why they are sacred to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It shares stories from normal, everyday members of the Church and especially talks about how the temples help them feel the love of Jesus Christ. The ground floor of the Visitor's Center is home to two main areas. One has a scaled model of the Salt Lake Temple that opens so the inner rooms can be seen. The other area is the home to a statue of Jesus Christ called the Christus. It was originally sculpted by the Danish artist Bertel Thorvaldsen in the early 1800s. The statue stands with outstretched arms, welcoming everyone to come feel His love and reminding us that He will come again with outstretched arms for anyone on earth. The beautiful woodwork in the Visitor's Center is one of my favorite things to see. The paneling in the ground floor is made from African Anegre and Eucalyptus trees. It is absolutely stunning when paired together! I invite you to come and see this beautiful place! Invite your family and friends! Enjoy the peace that can be found here, and feel the love of the Savior for you!

Had a wonderful visit with my family. They were very friendly and answered all of our questions. With the construction it was a little bit hard to find the entrance but I expect that this will go away after construction is over. We didn't need tickets either but we also went near the end of the day and were the last tour through.

This has to be the most poorly organized and executed thing the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has ever manage to pull off. First, it is an impossible maze to try to find a way to the Visitor Center even if you are at Temple Square because of the construction going on. After walking for about 20 minutes, I finally find the Visitor Center only to find out that you need tickets that you can only get through a special app. Also, they let members know about this and keep it hush hush to tourists so that members steal all the tickets in advance so there are not only no times for the day, but for any time at all untill they get released on a cyclic basis that they made super confusing, but let the members secretly know what they do. For a tour to let outsiders know what an LDS Temple is like, they are sure gunho on making sure that no outsiders can find the Visitor Center or get a tour once they do find it with a super conflated system that makes no sense (unless you are on the inside). Come on! You guys are better than this!
