  My wife was travelling though here for work, we come up to Salt Lake from the NOOG (Chattanooga) every few years. Last time we were up there my dog roofus was bored out of his mind, and I was looking for some place he could trot around for a bit. He was "portly pup" before his passing, so he weren't much of a runner, more of a trotter. ANYWAY, I saw there was seagulls here and thought Roofus would get a kick out of that, cause he used to love to chase around the gulls when we would go to Biloxi. So I took him out here to this park to run around for a bit, and there WAS NO seagulls. Just a couple of statues. I mean they were pretty and all, but I usually consider a seagull a "rat of the sky" so seeing one gold platted had me and roofus both shocked. Roofus didn't have any fun at all, but this one guy named Moroni came up to me and started telling me he had some buried treasure that Roofus could go help me dig for. I was suspicious at first because like who is this guy, and what does he want with my dog, but sure enough, we followed him to this buried treasurer and there was at least a dozen of these gold slabs we found. Roofus tore into one of them and that Moroni guy started yelling at me. Anyway, It was an ok monument but I WONT be back.

  Unique and beautiful monument to some unsung heroes. While I was visiting the Choir started practicing in the Tabernacle next door; truly Awesome and open to the public!

  One of the few signs that remain from the "old" temple square. So much has changed, but this monument and its inspiring story are still there, for now.
