The lady who booked our room on phone did not book ground floor as per request. Arrived and Chase understood my problem when I told him the lady even confirmed ground floor, she messed up but Chas me immediately handled it without question and we had a great experience. Chase is a keeper!

Everyone was awesome and super helpful! Really enjoyed being there, beds were comfortable enough and relatively quiet and cheap. The air conditioner was having a little trouble holding a temperature. But other than that it was great! Totally plan to come back.

This could have been a great experience. On a road trip and had some car trouble in Bryce national park. I called front desk day of to see if I could move our stay date or cancel booking and get my points back. I know the policy so I said we would still come down if they weren’t able to help.
Policy was no, so we headed to the hotel after a few hours of delay.
On the way, I see a giant cloud. Looking at Google Maps, I see there’s a huge fire right next to Richfield. That would have been great to mention on the phone when I called earlier, and as a notice to all guests staying at this IHG that there’s an active fire warning. The closer we got, evacuation notices started alarming on our phones.
I call the hotel again and ask the front desk girl working 8/3 about the fire, who says “we’re only affected by the smoke.” I ask about cancelling and she repeats the policy.
With a husband who has asthma and our lungs not being used to this air, it was completely unprofessional, disappointing, dangerous, and just plain rude for the front desk girl to say “you can email the manager”. She then cancels my reservation without my permission a few minutes after we get off the phone, as I’m driving to the hotel to work it out with them.
I’ve liked the other IHGs I’ve stayed at so far. The attitude and ignorance at this one needs new employees. I messaged IHGs reservations chat and thankfully they helped me get my points back. Maybe it’s no big deal for the locals who live in Richfield but smoke from a giant wild fire just over the mountain is a big deal for people whose lungs aren’t equipped for it. We got multiple evacuation and life threatening notice message alerts.
Super disappointed.

This facilities staff are untrained, rude and treated our family and the Wildland Firefighters that were staying and protecting their town like unwanted guests.
The front desk spun stories to justify their actions, none of which aligned with the company policy. As Diamond Elite members we stay frequently with the IHG suite of brands. While not every visit is perfect, we've never been treated as poorly and with hostility as this facility.
We booked for several consecutive days and were made to empty our room (With all of our items) for check-out time, sit in the lobby with our items (and dog) waiting for the staff to allow us into another room. They stated this is due to us being "firefighter guests" - however we'd booked as citizens. . . and even if we hadn't. . . .
Beyond this, speaking to the wildland firefighters, they were also being treated poorly, as though they shouldn't stay there.
Beyond that, they elevated the charge rates due to the fire being nearby and hoping to capitalize. What they don't realize (or perhaps they don't care) is the rates they charge, don't align with what the government allows for per-diem for stay for the fire staff. So these people who have no choice (considering it was over 100 degrees and couldn't camp) have to pay out of pocket for well over 100 a night in extra charges in addition to what little they get reimbursed. Combine this with the low pay, and they are paying to come to work, and be treated poorly by lazy, incosiderate staff sitting comfortably behind and air conditioned desk.
The way we were treated was so poor, we left to move to a different suite of brands on the other end of town simply to remove our business from this facility. IHG should consider training policies and the managers and staff here should be ashamed of themselves.
Basic kindness would have made things somewhat digestible, but the blatent lies, aggressive behavior and lack of interest in anything but themselves will keep us from utilizing this location if possible.
