  I’m giving 3 stars because it is clearly locally owned and the front desk employees were kind. However I do have to give my honest opinion of this hotel … it was not good. At all. It is pet friendly but the room smelled like dogs or like it hadn’t been cleaned. It really weirded me out so I slept on top of the sheets and not in the bed. Speaking of the bed, they might as well just put a sheet of plywood in the room because the bed was so hard my back was sore the next morning. . Also they tell you no dogs on the bed .. even though it’s a pet friendly room? Never heard of that before. Room is also really small, however it does have a mini fridge, coffee maker, and tv. We couldn’t sleep with the AC on because it would make a really loud squeaking noise every time it would kick off. I can’t speak for the breakfast because I didn’t eat any but my husband did and said it was not great. I wanted to stay in the room because I didn’t want to leave the dogs alone but you’re not allowed to bring food out of the dining room? Weird. I’d honestly pay a little extra to stay somewhere else.

  I’m on a road trip from San Francisco with an eventual destination of Denver, and traveling with my old and perfectly behaved dog, so I needed a dog friendly place to stay. My partner swears by Best Westerns, so when ChatGPT suggested this overnight spot, I figured it’d do. Not only did it “do”, but seriously surpassed my expectations. Aside from being clean, the room was well appointed, the hot breakfast was the right start to the day, but most of all, the staff was just amazing. The location is super close to the freeway yet still quiet. Most importantly for me, it was perfect for my dog. The grassy dog area in the back was super helpful for late night breaks and I imagine it’s even more valuable when it’s hot and the concrete is too hot for their paws. Big bonus was that price was super reasonable, especially considering all of my other stops on this journey. I’d 100% stay here again if the road takes me in this direction.
