  A trip of a lifetime! As a family of five with older teens and a young adult, we couldn’t have picked a better experience or a better time. We went during monsoon season due to our schedule, and while the river was “muddy,” the colors were incredible—straight out of Dune! The guides, rapids, food, hikes, and even the restroom situation (GOOBER!) were all so thoughtfully planned. Tour West has been perfecting this experience for nearly 60 years, and it shows. They truly have it down to a science, so read through their packing recommendations—you really don’t need much, especially during the hottest part of the season. We were grateful we brought enough laundry wash and massive carabiners. PRO-TIP: Get large bottles of sunblock at the store in Page the night before if you are not checking in bags. We cannot recommend Tour West or this experience enough. So grateful for all the work that made this unique family adventure possible. Don’t hesitate to book this adventure!

  An unforgettable 5-star experience from start to finish! Our 6-day trip down the Main Salmon River with Tour West Rafting exceeded every expectation. The "River of No Return" offers the perfect balance of exciting Class II and III whitewater rapids and scenic, relaxing float sections. If you want a little more adventure on the water, request to include an inflatable keyak or two which you can navigate. The Tour West guides were professional, highly skilled, and made everyone feel completely safe in the rapids. Sleeping under the stars on the sandy beaches was an unexpected highlight. The "river gourmet" food they prepared was incredible, and the entire logistics—from the Boise flight to the Carey Creek takeout—ran seamlessly. If you want a backcountry escape where you can disconnect and enjoy world-class rafting, book this trip!

  Our family (22 of us) joined Tour West for their 6 day, 5 night Salmon River trip. I was admittedly anxious leading into the experience and stepping well out of my comfort zone. However, within five minutes down the river I was at ease and wishing we would have more time. The guides were exceptional across the board, each with their own unique rafting styles and personalities. Throughout the week we all took turns swapping rafts every day to enjoy them all. Our teen girls had the benefit of rafting frequently with our guide Daisy and she wowed them with her strength and technique through the rapids. My boys probably spent almost half of the time on the water in duckies! Our guide Alex was so helpful in teaching them the river and rapids as they had never done anything like this before. My youngest fell in love with the river so much he made a pact to come back to kayak again and train to be to guide himself some day! There are no words that can express the beauty and peace that we experienced throughout the week, from the majestic serenity of the river to the exceptional night sky views sleeping under the stars every night. If you are hesitant for any reason, don't be. This is a trip you will not regret with a company that far exceeded any expectations had!

  I cannot say enough, good things about Tour West. They were absolutely fantastic! We did a six day five night tour down the salmon river. There were 22 of us with just our family and extended family, ages 11 to 73. Every one of us had a ball!! The guides, Alex, Kyle, Jeremy, Daisy, Jason, and Joe were all top-notch guides and took care of all of us in every way they possibly could. The campsite they chose each night were fantastic and suited everyone very well. The meals were fantastic with pancakes, eggs, bacon, you name it, and they also were very accommodating for those that were lactose free or gluten-free people. The last night on the river we were treated with steak and that was great! The Salmon River is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful scenery every twist and turn of the river. I could go on and on with compliments, but rest assured Tour West will give you a fantastic lifetime experience! I can’t wait until we have the opportunity to do it over again.

  Tour West is an outstanding rafting company!! I have taken their Grand Canyon trip as well as their Salmon River trip and both were trips of a lifetime. First class guides, gear, and planning. The front office is great to work with and has all the details and logistics ironed out ahead of time. Can't recommend Tour West strongly enough to anyone looking for a rafting guide on the Grand Canyon, Salmon River, or Cataract Canyon! Go Tour West, you won't regret your decision :)
