  We just checked in. It is Thursday. We were told at check in their elevator broke Monday. No warning. No help. No discount. No concern that my 75 year old mother was put on the 3rd floor. Then we bumped into a man trying to traverse the stairs on crutches with a broken leg. The front desk told us we could try to complain to the manager tomorrow. As a cherry on top I got to my room and there were no towels, no coffee pot, no alarm clock, etc. It was like someone stripped it bare.

  We were part of a wedding party with a room block and they wouldn’t let anyone check in until 3:00 on the dot (even though rooms were ready). The wedding was at 4:30. Since there were 2 separate wedding parties staying there and everyone was made to wait in the lobby until 3pm sharp it caused a super long line and we were late to the wedding because of their refusal to help us. We booked 2 rooms and did not get our second room until 9 pm. Not sure why it took so long as they certainly weren’t cleaning the room. My room smelled so bad that I could not sleep. The towels were too dirty to even use (covered in brown stains-don’t even want to know what that was-and mascara). Because it was so late I decided to just go to bed and try to ignore the horrible smell. The moment the sun came up I fled and will never go back. There are other hotels in Waco that are cheaper, far nicer, and have a better location.

  This place is a disgrace to Holiday Inn. Once you get out of the front lobby it all goes down hill. Hot muggy stinky hallways. Very dingy and dated. The room and bed smelled musty. The shower didn't work. I chose this place because we habe always liked Holiday Inns. I will make sure to read reviews before booking another Holiday Inn after this.

  Worst experience I've had at any hotel/motel in years. 1st I arrive check rates told $109 a night ask about pet deposit/fees told $25. I think ok not bad. Then asked about veterans discount. Was told they do that so I agree. He puts in info and I'm told it's $157 I asked why so high then he tells me it's $25 per pet. (I had 2 small dogs with me.) So I let him know that I wanted to check online see if I can get better rate. I check and it is about the same so I go back in 15 min later and tell him to check me in. So he does so. And now tells me it's $186. I asked why and he tells me the price fluctuates. I have never in 30+ years have had that happen or been told that. Then I asked if that included my vet discount and was told that I could only get that if I booked online. Never has that happened ever I have stayed at hundreds of hotels as my job had me traveling. Never been told that I got my vet discount online only. So i pay the $180 then he tells me there is a $100 deposit as well. Going to be too cold to sleep in the car so I have to accept. Then I get to the room and when I used the sink the handle comes off. I use the microwave later, and the turntable doesn't work so my food was cold on one end warm on other. These bait and switch tactics, and non full disclosure tactics are unacceptable. There are othe things as well but I only have so much room. So as a final note I will just say it will be a cold cold day I h.... before I stay at another Holiday Inn.
