I stayed here on my way through TX and it didn't disappoint. I'm obsessed with finding lodging with plank vinyl flooring, I despise carpenting in hotel rooms and was very happy to see vinyl flooring at this location. I had a dog and their fee is at the low end pricing, so that made me happy. The room was clean, bed and pillows were comfortable. I enjoyed the sparse, mid-century minimalist furnishings of the room. It would have been nice to have a coffee maker in room but a short walk to lobby and there was fresh coffee. To compare the breakfast to other hotels of this price range, I would say it did not disappoint. The staff working the breakfast shift was super friendly giving my day a great start. A smile goes a long way! One disappointment, I wanted to tip the breakfast staff but the hotel is "cashless" and couldn't provide change, I felt bad not leaving them something, but I already used my small bills for room cleaners. For the available hotels in the area, I would recommend this place.

It definitely served its purpose. We stayed here passing through from Houston to Phx and it was good for a place to rest my head and had a pretty good breakfast. Rooms are clean however there appeared to have been some water damage on our ceiling as we saw cracks and some bubbles. We also woke up pretty congested so maybe that was a factor - maybe it was just weather. The concierge was kind and helpful. The only other “downside” is that it’s right off the freeway. It can be noisy but if you’re a trucker or not sensitive to noise then you’re fine. I’d stay here again

It's difficult to complain with a brand new hotel, with a fantastic night front desk young lady. Very professional, she is definitely going places. Rooms are Ultra Modern no carpet. King size bed quite comfortable pillows were excellent. There is some freeway noise I would call it a three or four on a 1 to 10 for noise. Its brand new. Bright. Modern. Clean. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash included in the shower. It has a small fridge and a safe

I was getting tired on my drive at 03:30am and decided to pull into the Hampton Inn in Van Horn where me and around 15 of my coworkers typically stay a couple times a week on our drive. The Hampton was full capacity, so I decided to give Avid a try since it was new and decent looking. When I went in to check on a room at 03:30 I was told that I will be charged 50% more for an early check in because of the time in the morning that I arrived, although I would only have the room until check-out that same morning. When I started to ask questions about the Early check-in fee, the girl at the counter was snarky that I would question her and said that if I don’t like it, I can go stay somewhere else. I was tired so I just took my way overpriced room so that I could get some sleep. The rooms were good, and the bed was good, when I walked into the room it reminded me of how a Hilton Tru hotel looks, I honestly preferred it to the Hampton where we normally stay, and if I wasn’t ripped off I likely would have recommended it to others. Either way, my first experience here will be my last, and I have sent out a email to my coworkers letting them know to never stay here. I hope the extra 50% you charged me for a 5 hour nap in your room was worth potentially missing out on a potential +\- 30 nights a week with my team.
