- DMDavid MorlandSep 19, 20262.0We checked in on 9/18 around 4 PM and had an excellent first impression. The woman working was kind, energetic, and genuinely welcoming. The rooms and facilities were exceptionally clean and well maintained. Everything started off great. Unfortunately, that changed when the night attendant took over. I went downstairs simply to purchase a soft drink and was met with an unnecessary level of hostility. Despite being straightforward and respectful, I was spoken to in an incredibly condescending manner. When I mentioned that I didn’t appreciate his tone, he responded, “Well, you paid for a room to stay in, and that’s it,” followed by, “I’ve worked in bars and service longer than you’ve been alive. I think I know what I’m doing.” For such a simple transaction, the hostility was completely unnecessary and baffling. It’s a shame that such a clean, well-run property had its otherwise great impression undermined by someone who seems to have forgotten the most basic principle of hospitality: guests are not inconveniences. Experience in hospitality means very little if basic courtesy is missing. Based on this interaction, a customer-facing role does not seem to be in the best interest of either the desk attendant or Candlewood Suites. The property deserves better representation at the front desk.

The facility is clean, smells great and welcoming. How things changed when the night clerk came in. My son went down for a drink and the guy was very rude, bothered and a smart mouth. We will be calling the owner.

He was very kind and funny. The room took us by surprise, very clean, spacious and had a full kitchen! Will definitely be staying at this hotel when visiting from now on.
