Never again will I stay here 😑 I’ll stick to the Hilton from now on. This is a novel, so sorry not sorry. We stayed here on 4/24/26 after an absolute disaster of a moving day loading a U-Haul and dealing with multiple setbacks. We were EXHAUSTED. We originally planned to stop in Amarillo earlier that evening for sleep, but that never happened. By midnight we were finally done and desperately needed somewhere to shower and sleep. We saw an advertised rate of $150$ so we pulled in. My husband went inside to pay and came back out saying it was $248!!!! We immediately went back in because I wanted to ask why the price was so high, but the employee was nowhere to be found. We walked toward the elevator and noticed the employee asleep on the couch in the guest TV/lounge area. At that point we just said forget it, we’ll ask in the morning because we were too exhausted to argue. The room… 😑 It was giving modern/90s motel vibes. The carpet was gross, there was a weird smell in the room, and overall it just felt rundown. The bathroom was actually nice, the TV worked, and the shower pressure was perfect — literally the ONLY positives. The room was okay enough to sleep in, but absolutely not worth nearly $250. We got up around 6 AM and went downstairs for breakfast around 6:30. The FIRST thing we saw stepping off the elevator was the same employee asleep in the exact same place she had been hours earlier. I understand she was pregnant, but still… you’re at work. The breakfast area itself was surprisingly decent, although the pancake machine didn’t work 😑. Then it got worse. We picked a bench table near the back window, and after I set my plate down I noticed tiny little bugs crawling on the bench. I immediately grabbed my food and moved. The next table we sat at felt uneven, so I looked down and saw an old folded-up piece of paper shoved under the table leg to balance it. And I mean OLD old — the edges were shredded and looked like they’d been soaked by mop water multiple times 🤮. Meanwhile, other guests started coming in for breakfast and that employee slept through the entire thing in the lounge area. When we finished eating, we went to the front desk to check out and get a receipt. We stood there FOREVER waiting. Another guest walked up and started waiting too. Finally a day shift employee came in, saw us standing there with nobody at the desk, noticed the girl sleeping, and started yelling her name repeatedly to wake her up. When she finally made it to the register, she was so out of it she could barely work the computer and kept blaming “the system.” I honestly thought I wasn’t even going to get a receipt. Eventually she printed it, and the total was still $216 — which is insane considering the condition of this hotel. Then I noticed I had been charged a “late night/last minute check-in fee” 😑😑😑 Since when is that a thing?? I paid over $200 to shower and sleep for maybe 5 hours in a rundown hotel with poor staffing and bugs in the dining area. That’s highway robbery. Anyway, here are a couple pictures

Clean from the lobby to the rooms. Amble parking for guests. Also, set up with 3 prong outdoor plug outlets. Will stay there again if and when we return.
