  Avoid this property or get the travel insurance, otherwise you will regret it if anything happens to you and you can't go, even if it's not your fault. We booked a stay for a weekend and due to car trouble could not make it to the property. We called the same day but were still charged with a no-show, even though we let the hotel know. No empathy, no option to re-book to another weekend just rules and regulations. Not what we are used to from Holiday Inn, and I am a long-time awards member. But no more. This experience ruined it for me and my wife. Also,need to mention that we were charged for the room the day prior to our scheduled arrival. We never had that happen before. Usually, you're charged when you check in. We will absolutely never be back at any Holiday Inn. There are far too many better options, to be putting up with such nonsense. Buyer beware!

  IHG should be proud of their workers here who go above and beyond from front desk to restaurant/ bar to housekeeping. The area is not the best for walkability but there are plenty of gorgeous parks nearby to make it feel like you are at a resort. Plus the rooms are HUGE !!

  We had a wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn San Marcos while helping our daughter move into her new apartment. A big reason our experience was so enjoyable was Charles. He was incredibly kind, informative, and helpful from the moment we arrived. He took the time to answer our questions, provided helpful information about the area, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Moving can be stressful, but Charles's friendly attitude and excellent customer service made our stay delightful and stress-free. Employees like him make all the difference. Thank you, Charles, for helping make this special family milestone even more memorable! Highly recommend this hotel, and we especially appreciate Charles for going above and beyond.

  This hotel was a Terrible experience! Needless to say the A/c was broken on the second 3rd and 4th floors .. extremely hot in the hallways... the air in the room was weak! The shower in the room was coming detached from the wall .. And the Spring bistro! The food was absolutely disgusting 🫣! And stupid expensive we ordered ravioli and they put so much seasoning salt on it.. it wasn't edible and they were frozen! $17! Bacon cheeseburger $24 frozen dry and no flavor ! This hotel does NOT offer free breakfast! Like most do! You have to pay for it! My suggestion is to order door dash! Or leave and get something! Ill never stay at this location again

  I am posting this review so others won’t make the same mistake I did staying at this hotel it was definitely not worth it. Don’t get fooled by the online photos and good reviews must be for bribes for good reviews I sure did get fooled. When I first went inside the building it smelled like mildew I thought it was a temporary smell, but it was the same throughout my entire stay. The first room they gave me the sheets had stains and pubic hairs. The ladies changed my room to a better one, but the conditions in that room were not that great. Part of the door where the latch is was broken so made it difficult to open and close the door only way to close it was to shut it hard. The bathroom door also had an issue the door would hit the front door so we had to keep it closed. The toilet paper holder was coming off the wall, the sink and the bath tub would clog real bad I had to rinse each foot before getting out. The sink and tub looked dirty like it doesn’t get cleaned and disinfected and mildew is building up around. Housekeeping must not be doing a good job keeping up with the cleaning. The 1st floor and hallways felt hot. The pool I didn’t even dare go after seeing the conditions the rooms were. Also, I paid extra to have breakfast well that was a complete waste. It was horrible the worst I’ve ever had at any hotel. All the food was cold and the eggs both the boiled and scrambled tasted old I spit my food out and didn’t eat anything went out for breakfast instead. So don’t waste your money paying extra for breakfast. The front dest staff was excellent they were always very helpful and nice no complaints there that’s the only reason I’m giving it 2 stars. The entire building needs attention a deep cleaning and alot of maintenance. I will not consider staying here ever again nor do I recommend it to anyone.
