  Room smelled weird, maybe like smoke. The elevators didn’t work consistently, and the hotel keys deactivated on the first day. Staff made a mistake and called me stating I wasn’t in their system and wondering why my stuff was still in my room. Staff fixed the issue and were nice about it, but definitely was a stressful stay.

  The Holiday Inn Express in San Marcos, TX truly exceeded my expectations and is easily one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. From the moment I arrived, the entire staff was welcoming, professional, attentive, and genuinely engaged with their guests. The level of customer service really stood out—you could tell the staff took pride in making sure everyone felt comfortable and taken care of. The hotel itself was exceptionally clean and well maintained. My room was spotless, comfortable, and clearly prepared with attention to detail. Everything from the common areas to the guest rooms reflected a high standard of cleanliness and care. What impressed me most was the staff. Great customer service can completely change a hotel experience, and this team absolutely delivered. They were friendly, helpful, and consistently went above and beyond. If you’re staying in San Marcos, I highly recommend this Holiday Inn Express. Excellent staff, extremely clean rooms, and outstanding service from beginning to end. Definitely a 5-star experience, and I will absolutely stay here again.

  We have stayed at this hotel both times we have come to Texas in the last two years. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We met the new manager today and she's as sweet as can be. The rooms are very clean, as is the pool which we used almost every day. So many sights to see that are nearby and many restaurants to choose from. I definitely recommend this hotel!

  This is our second time staying here, we stayed here two years ago and enjoyed our stay so much. Being from the north we enjoyed a lot of time in the pool area on both stays. Location is great, there is a target right next door if there is anything you may have forgotten! We will probably be back again in two years.

  I booked this hotel on priceline with affirm. Front desk said the priceline payment wasnt working, so I paid the room with my debit card. They have failed to let priceline know I did not use the affirm payment to book the room and paid with my personal debit card. THIS HAS BEEN MONTHS. ITS INSANE. It is still showing on my credit report, the dispute process is still pending with priceline. I asked the hotel to send me my damn receipt showing I paid with my debit card and received no answer. I just called the phone, no answer.
