Do not come here unless you want to waste your time & be left with no where to stay!
ROOM 224
I booked the king room with sofa bed for my children, husband and I to stay in for the night.
The room was very spacious, has a balcony, sofa bed, and wet bar. Upon walking through the room I quickly realized the many things wrong with it. I found my room to be unsafe and unsanitary and would not feel comfortable recommending this place to anyone, especially if they are traveling with children. Despite the rates shown, I paid just over $100 for this room + $50 hold.
Upon entering the room, I first noticed that I couldn’t lock the door behind me. No matter how the door was positioned, pushing in or out, the lock does not turn into the mechanism inside the trim.
As soon as I opened the bathroom door, I immediately smelled mold and saw some in the corner of the tub. When exiting the restroom my child tripped on the metal trim sticking out of the floor.
I tried to checkout the balcony, and as soon as I opened the curtains I saw how filthy it was. I completely understand this is an outside area, but I would expect it to at least be cleaned each time the room is cleaned - it’s an amenity that is part of the room.. Aside from the dirtiness, I couldn’t get the door to open properly, and there were 3 active wasp nest. I then observed a broken window, and while there was no danger from the inside, I do not feel like any of that is appropriate let alone safe with children present.
I let the woman at the front desk know and got her to the room to see each thing. We started with the door, she then brushed it off by explaining it was ok that it didn’t lock, that it still couldn’t be opened from the outside and that I could use the other type of lock (the one that stops the door from opening once it’s already opened 6 inches.)
I then went on to show her the mold in the shower to be asked “that’s mold???”.
I then went to show her my concerns with my balcony door, wasps, broken window, dirtiness. And the only solution she could offer me was sweeping the dirt. I told her that sweeping the dirt meant nothing if they couldn’t get rid of the wasps outside so that I wouldn’t have to keep my children cooped in the room. The soonest the wasps could be gone was “next day” but what kind of solution is that for me when I will be checking out the next day. The wasps shouldn’t have been there when the room was sold to me for the night. ALL of these things SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED prior to the room being available to ANYONE. I don’t even keep my home in this type of condition, WHY would I PAY to stay in a room like this.
I explained if the wasps was the only thing that could get handled immediately, that I would just stick it out, If she could please contact her manager about this. There was no other room with the sofa bed or balcony to offer to me. After contacting her manager she came back to my room and explained that she could give us a refund. My fault for thinking that offering a refund was their way of making the issue better, and I felt better about atleast not having to pay for this room in this condition. I went to the desk and she issues the refund and gives a receipt for that, I asked if that was all and she told me yes.
I finally go to my car to unload some of my things to get settled after all of this, only to be asked once I climbed the stairs to the 2nd floor with all my things and 2 children, if I was leaving.
I was shocked, as I thought I at least still had a roof over our head for the night despite all of this. NO. She asks for the keys, goes into the room to make sure my things are out and marches away from me.
My children and I gathered our things back up from the hallway and left. Inconvenience after inconvenience. & Just to be clear, the refund isn’t a solution IF I STILL HAVE TO FIND ANOTHER ROOM FOR THE NIGHT. So all of this just to have to find another hotel, and wait for my $150 to be returned. Here’s the pics for proof since I already saw the owner in the reviews calling someone a liar.
