First I went to this hotel thinking it was going to be a decent place with the rooms being 90 dollars a night i arrived and the front desk person Gaberial was rude from the start the hotel asked for a 200 dolar deposit then put me in a room that was ran down and gross I called him and asked to be moved to another room and he told me if I didnt like the room I could leave he couldn't put me in another room he was rude then I went to cancel he said he couldn't give me any proof no paper work email or anything that I canceled this place is criminal and the people here will scam you there are way better hotels around that are way nicer with better service dont waste your time or money by coming to this hotel

Horrible customer service from all staff. Including front desk, owner, even maids. Valet goes through your things. Forced to pay $80 parking each night you stay on top of bill. Plus, the views aren’t really that great either. You just see run down empty parking lots from the windows. Also, the pool area looks like it’s made for a senior citizens home. Sketchy vibe going on with the elevators too. They do shake quite a bit. I’ve never been on one that shook like that… The hallways do have a smell to them. I honestly feel like the place is overrated just because you can see the dirty riverwalk water.

I never write reviews, but my stay at the Riverwalk Plaza Hotel was so awful I have to warn others.
Let me start with the positives: the staff was genuinely nice. That’s the only kind thing I can say.
Now for the rest. The heat didn’t work — it was blowing out nothing but cold air the entire time. Freezing night in a hotel room. They also charge a $200 deposit, which is insane given the condition of this place. With how run-down and dirty everything is, they should be paying us to stay here, not holding a deposit.
The elevator makes a loud rocking and groaning noise every time it moves; I honestly feared getting stuck.
The only thing “updated” in the entire room was a flat-screen TV. Everything else was falling apart. Walls had chunks of paint missing, floors were filthy, and the paint job on the walls was horrible — like a toddler did it. The bathroom smelled like a sewage problem, and on top of that, a light bulb was missing in the bathroom.
I found ants and little fruit flies in my room. The hallways are genuinely scary — dim, dirty, and unsettling. They advertise a “Riverwalk view,” but mine was a swamp view.
The photos online look nothing like this place. Don’t be fooled.
Save your money and your sanity. Stay anywhere else.

Horrible front desk receptionist. The head of housekeeping is a prude and liar! They all have snappy attitudes. Head house keeper lied and said I smoked in my room when she’s never even been inside my room nor have I ever left the room either. Plus, I don’t even smoke and they tried to charge me a $300 “smoking fee”. When I told them they could go into my room right now to see if it smell like smoke the receptionist told me NO it didn’t matter. I can’t even leave my belongings in my room because I don’t feel like they’re safe because of the head housekeeping is very spiteful. The rooms and hallways STINK!. You’d think all the money they have from overcharging and scamming people for those moldy, warehouse smelling rooms they’d be able to afford some air fresheners or plug ins. DO NOT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS HORROR HOTEL! I paid $875 for two nights! Just for them to tell me that I had to leave the room I booked because they gave it away to someone else. The elevators feelings like it’s a roller coaster ride at six flags! Very dangerous. Also, the ceilings in the rooms have cracks along the foundation. Looks like it could be mold if it’s not mold it’s either dirt build up and dust.

Got to our room and immediately was unimpressed. There were flies on the walls; every wall had stains; the bathtub was gross; there was a wet smell in the room; and we noticed the view outside our slider was directly looking out at the pool where there were people sitting right outside of our door. Now that wouldn’t normally be an issue except our blind did not work; it wouldn’t retract at all, so we called the front desk, who told us maintenance would come up to fix them. Well, fast forward almost 45 minutes later as we sat uncomfortably in a dirty room while we awkwardly sat with people looking at us in our room. Maintenance never arrived, so we decided to cancel our reservation. And when I got down to the front desk to inform them of all these issues, the woman at the front desk didn’t have a care in the world and basically shrugged it off. I hate having to leave bad reviews but when you spend a decent amount of money to stay somewhere and that’s the treatment you get it’s ridiculous.
