  I would not recommend anyone go to this hotel stayed Saturday evening got up on Sunday morning went to take a shower and there was a lot of black mold in the bathroom spoke with the mod at front desk gave me the name of the general mod named Anthony Farah and left message after message no response and find out that he is almost never in and there is noting they can do about the mold that is probably Why the hotel room has to drop ceiling In the rooms, there was clearly water spots on the ceiling tile for the drop ceiling I have a bunch of pictures and more My kid has allergy related asthma, and now they’re having issues with it because of the mold In the picture, there are some little black dots that were molded all over the place Also, there is water under the paint on the drywall. There’s a large bubble and there’s a lot more pictures.

  Our experience at the Riverwalk Plaza Hotel was disappointing overall. While the location is undoubtedly the hotel’s biggest advantage, as it is conveniently located near the San Antonio River Walk, the condition of the property and several issues we encountered left much to be desired. The hotel feels outdated, and the rooms appear to have undergone only minimal modernization, with what seemed like a very inexpensive approach to renovations. We also noticed dirty floors and stains on the walls and ceiling, which detracted from the overall cleanliness and comfort of the room. Additionally, the secondary security latch on our room door was broken, which was concerning from a safety standpoint. We also experienced miscommunication with the front desk staff, which added to our frustration. Unfortunately, we also had a missing wedding ring that we have still been unable to locate, making the experience even more upsetting. I understand that no hotel stay is perfect, and I am not writing this review to be unfair to the staff or property. However, I believe these are important issues for future guests to be aware of. With improvements to the rooms, cleanliness, maintenance, and communication, the hotel could offer a much better experience. Ultimately, the location is the main positive, but based on our experience, there is significant room for improvement in other areas.

  We decided to stay here based on the property pictures online. We arrived a bit early at 1:30 even though check-in is at 4. I tried to see if a room was available yet, but the guy at the counter wasn't very friendly and acted like I was bothering him. He seemed like he was clueless and went to get what I am guessing is a manager. She was equally as unfriendly despite me letting them know this was our first stay at this hotel. They said nothing is ready and basically said just come back at 4. They wouldn't even let the kids use the pool in the meantime. I stay at many hotels for conferences and have always been welcomed to use the amenities until a room was ready and always have felt like I was welcomed. This place already is a disappointment and I haven't even gotten a room yet. I will never stay here again. I should have stuck with Marriott.

  Really cozy place and honestly it has everything you would expect and more you wouldn't even expect for a great price. - Amazing Location | On The Riverwalk - Local Ownership - Has a gym/pool - Coffeeshop on the 1st floor - Rooms are very nice I only know it has local ownership because I spoke with the owner. If you have a chance you should visit, this place is honestly super nice especially for the price.

  I arrived around 8:30 PM, and unfortunately, my overall experience was disappointing. One of the first surprises was the $200 incidental deposit, which was more than twice what I paid for the room itself. I understand that hotels require incidental deposits, but $200 seemed excessive. The front desk staff were not particularly friendly or welcoming. Honestly, the nicest person I interacted with during my entire stay was the valet attendant. The hotel itself had a somewhat musty smell and could definitely use some updating and a deeper cleaning. The walls are extremely thin, so I could easily hear noise from the surrounding rooms and the hallway. Only one elevator was working during my stay as well, which made getting around the hotel inconvenient. The gym was probably one of the biggest disappointments. It is tucked away in the basement and felt very dated and poorly maintained. The dull orange and blue interior did not help, and several pieces of equipment were not working. It definitely did not feel like a gym you would want to spend much time in. The shower pressure was also not very good, and valet parking was expensive on top of everything else. The checkout experience made the stay even more frustrating. I called several hours before the 11 AM checkout time to ask about a late checkout and was told it would cost $25 for every additional 30 minutes. I was also sent a text reminding me about checkout, and someone knocked on my door twice before 11 AM. It made me feel rushed to leave even though the official checkout time had not passed yet. Overall, the location is convenient, but the hotel could use some serious improvements when it comes to cleanliness, maintenance, the gym, elevators, and customer service. Some fresh paint, repairs, better upkeep, and a more welcoming experience from the staff would make a big difference.
