Equal parts historic charm and modern luxury, Kimpton Santo San Antonio - Riverwalk fuses the vintage with the new. San Antonio’s very first Kimpton beautifully blends a new-build hotel and a restored 1850s German-English schoolhouse, adapted into a space with a high-end steakhouse and gorgeous guest suites. Just as the Kimpton Santo bridges architectural styles, the location serves as a bridge between downtown and Southtown, making it the perfect spot to explore all the best of this romantic city.

We were here for a big basketball tournament and randomly landed here through our Amex travel options. We had two boys with us so the pool was great as a downtime option. The staff were all very respectful and helpful. The food at Deans is really good! If I had any type of complaint it would be the Tesla charging option in the parking lot. It wasn’t working half the time we were there. It would have saved us some time. This is within a 15-20 min walk to the Alamodome and Convention center. Very close to riverwalk and other local eateries as well.

From the valet to your room The Kimpton is top notch! We stayed in the suites which are excellent. It's like being in your own hotel. Dinner at Dean's Steakhouse is a must! Dean's may have the best steak in San Antonio! You can't go wrong I've had the Delmonico, Fred Linz T-Bone, & 22 Oz bone in rib eye. Absolutely no fall-in in preparation, seasoning, cook temp, & presentation all 5 Star! I've only stayed in the suites which are separate from the main hotel, but the social hour is nice & the courtyard is a nice escape as well! They personalize the message before you come on a hand written postcard with complementary beers & quiche. Rooms are huge, fresh, clean & spaced out perfectly! Same for the bathroom, a real spa-esch experience. I've stayed at Hotel Emma a few times I prefer the suites at the Kimpton hands down. Quite a bit quieter, no loud elevator, or strange noises lol. Although the private balcony at the Emma is nice, the Kimpton suites have a nice sitting area outside your room! Considering it was game 5 of the NBA Finals I had the pleasure of meeting Earnie Johnson, great guy quick hand shake & Gabe my compliments! So you never know who you may meet when you're there either!

DONT EVER GO TO THE SPA WHOLE ENVIRONMENT SMELLED LIKE DOG 🐕 apologies to pet owners I mean no disrespect. For the type of business they are into they suck at it , really bad service, unprofessional attitude and most of all they are heartless, when you check in the hotel they will tell you that you get a discount at the spa , No it’s a lie , that’s a trap ,I fell for it check in and next day I went to the spa , lady at front desk already giving attitude I ignored it and asked to be seen but she said they was no availability until 3pm and asked if I wanted to come back by 3pm I said yes , mind you this was all verbal communication and she told me I will get a text to fill out my information and complete the appointment, I NEVER DID because I had to go to Austin for a family emergency, at 3pm she called and asked if I have completed the booking and I told her No because of the situation I won’t be needing it anymore which was why I didn’t make the booking, she asked If I still wanted the service I told her NO , she told me I was going to get charged full price of $400 for a No show 😡 , how do you charge me full price for a service that wasn’t provided? A penalty that I was never told about? An appointment that was never completed? I was furious getting charged $400 is not $40 , when I made it back I complained to the hotel I was told it’s taken care of Not to bother , and when I checked out I asked same questions they told me the hotel has instructed them to let it go since appointment was never confirmed by me or neither did I receive the service , I stayed from the 8-10th MAY my total charge for 3 nights was $852 I got charged on the 12th MAY . Then on JUNE 4th I got charged $400 By the hotel they waited almost a month why the hell do I have to pay $400 for service I didn’t get and a penalty I wasn’t aware of @kimpton santo San Antonio riverwalk ?

I was at this hotel for a church conference from May 24th check in to May 30th check out. When I went to the desk to check out there was an $216 Spa charge on my bill. I explained to the gentleman that I was here on business working as one of the police officers securing the v.i.p in the conference. With my schedule I had no time to have a "Spa Date" especially at a $216 rate. The front desk clerk went into the computer and act as if he had removed the charge, I asked for a receipt, he said " the bill is zero owe so the bill will be plank therefore no receipt is needed". Check out was on the 30th, On Monday June 1st I check my credit card and the $216 dollar charge was posted. I call customer service no help, I called the Spa no answer, called front desk Talk to Isla who said she would put the complaint through and someone would call me back that day...didn’t happen. I called back Today June 5th talk to Jessica with no resolve. I ask to speak to a manager and was told there was no manager available. I ask for a corporate number, called them only to leave a message. Jessica said, "someone gave my room number for payment at the spa", which to me is poor security, poor processing. No signature required. That lead me to believe a resident can use any of the hotel amenities and give a random room number and the other guest is stuck with the bill...AGAIN POOR SECURITY PROCESSING. NOW I AM STUCK WITH A $216 bill because the hotel has bad policies.... I will never stay at The Kimpton Santo San Antonio Hotel Again...and will let our organization know for future conferences Lavell W.

⸻ I stayed at the hotel over the weekend in Room 1017 on the nights of May 29 and May 30. I booked the reservation using my Chase Sapphire Reserve card through the Chase Travel program. One of the benefits associated with this booking is late checkout (in this case, 4 pm) at hotels designated as part of The Edit collection, which this hotel is. On the day of checkout, I went out for brunch and returned to the hotel around 2:00 p.m. When I got back, even though there was a do not disturb sign on the door, the housekeeping was already cleaning my room despite my eligibility for late checkout. While housekeeping was in the room, I noticed that two shopping bags containing items I had purchased over the weekend were missing. I asked the housekeeper about them, and she said she would check with someone. The bags were later returned with the contents intact. However, I then realized that my phone charger was missing. It is the only charger I had with me and the one I had been using throughout my stay, so I know it was in the room. When I asked the housekeeper about it, she said she did not know where it was and was not even sure there had been a charger there. I reported the issue to the front desk, and they unsuccessfully attempted to locate a replacement charger for me (I got a cord but no cube). While waiting, I discovered that additional items were missing from my backpack, including my Beats headphones and a portable charger. At that point, it became clear that property had been removed from my room during housekeeping service. I reported everything to the front desk and explained that, while I did not expect the missing items to be recovered, I believed there was a serious issue that management should investigate regarding the housekeeping staff. The hotel itself is very nice, and I otherwise enjoyed my stay. I would consider staying here again, but given this experience, I would be much more careful to secure all of my belongings.
