We checked in on Friday May 8th, the lady that checked me in did not give me the option between points or the welcome amenity for being a platinum member. She made the decision on her own to give points. If I had the option, I would have taken the welcome ammenity. I asked the check in person about the social hour in the lounge, she told us the hours were 5pm to 7pm. We were checking in right at 7pm so we were disappointed we missed it. We later learned the actual hours are 5:30pm to 7:30pm so we would have stopped in if we were given the correct hours.
On Saturday 5/9, we spent time at the pool. The towel shelf was empty during mid afternoon so we had no towels.
We went to the high praise bar Saturday evening around 5pm and ordered the Seasonal Crudite. It was delivered with only vegetables and sauce even though the menu said it comes with naan bread. I asked the bartender about it, and he said he keeps telling the kitchen it is supposed to be served with naan bread and the kitchen keeps ignoring him. He called down and the kitchen brought up some toasted bread as a substitution and said they were out of naan bread. Even though they knew it was supposed to come with naan bread, they made the decision to leave it off, only serve vegetables and not mention it to us and not apologize or try to substitute it with something else until I asked.
We attempted to stop back into the High Praise bar at 11:15pm on Saturday 5/9 for a drink. Even though they are supposed to be open until midnight, the guy cleaning up told us they were closed.
We went back to the pool on 5/10. Luckily we did have towels this time. Unlike the day before, they had all music completely turned off at the pool in the afternoon. We attempted to stop in High Praise at 12:30pm but they were locked up and closed even though their website shows they open at 12pm on Sunday. We had to take the elevator down to the lobby in our swimsuits to get drinks which was frustrating. Other guests at the pool were complaining of the same thing. I’m not sure why this place even bothers to post hours for High Praise when they do not adhere to them.
This is a nice hotel, but the management and staff training is a total disaster. Every issue we encountered could have been easily avoided with proper management and proper training.
The lady working the lobby bar on Saturday and Sunday was great and provided excellent service.

Really enjoyed our stay. The rooms were very clean which it is one of our top priorities. The front desk staff were very professional and lovely. They really made sure to make us feel welcomed! They use Byredo bal d’afrique for their signature scent and for their bathroom amenities which I thought is an excellent choice.
It is not right at the centre of the riverwalk party area so it’s perfect if you want to avoid the loud music/sounds. We had an infant with us so this worked wonderfully. You still have direct access to the riverwalk trail right outside the establishment.
The only thing that I would suggest is an option for non valet parking. I just don’t find it necessary and would have liked to have had access to our car without having to go through valet. We used a third party website and they charged us significantly more than if we would have added it on the spot.

Great stay at the Intercontinental from the very first interaction! Porsha at the front desk was helpful, warm and kind and set an excellent tone for the visit. The property is well maintained and the rooms are cozy with excellent amenities. Particular shout out was the “nature sounds” speaker next to the bed and there is a bar in the shower to make leg shaving easier. The downstairs bar had friendly and quick service and the caviar chips were a for sure win! The only less than stellar part was the exclusive lounge was a little lackluster and breakfast wasn’t the best but it’s free and we didn’t book specifically for that. It’s also a little walk to the main Riverwalk but it’s at a really quiet part which is perfect for a stroll and to get away from the crowds. Highly recommend this hotel for your next San Antonio stay. It will for sure be my first choice next time!

I recently stayed at the InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk and overall had a great experience. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms were very nice and clean, and the service from staff was excellent throughout my stay.
The location is also a plus! the River Walk is about an 8 minute walk away, which makes it convenient for restaurants and things to do. That said, I would recommend not walking alone at night, especially as a female, and always having someone with you just to stay safe.
My main complaint is the parking situation. You’re essentially left with two options pay $68 for valet parking at the hotel , or park in a nearby garage for $35 that didn’t feel very safe. I personally felt on edge walking back and forth from the garage, which took away a bit from the overall experience. It was very sketchy.
Aside from that, everything else was great. I’d definitely stay here again, but I do wish there were better or more secure parking options

I had a very pleasant experience at the InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk hotel. The rooms are modern and clean, and bed was perfect! I usually don't sleep well in hotels, but the bed at the hotel is amazing and kept me rested. The check-in was fast, smooth and professional. The breakfast at the lounge is better than at many of the other hotels, with better ingredients, presentations and most importantly - friendly staff.
During my stay, I visited the hotel restaurant called Cavalier many times. I enjoyed live jazz music during brunch and chatted about foods with a friendly host named Regina. The restaurant serves some of the best foods I have ever had - be sure to try the crab cake sandwich and the homemade pickles! They are so good, I know where I want to stay the next time when I am in San Antonio.
