  I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and the quality has gone down drastically to the point it can’t get worse… checked into the room to find out we have no towels provided. Called the front desk- no answer. Looked in the cabinets around- found a dead smashed cockroach inside the cabinet by the fridge. Went downstairs for towels and mentioned a roach… only got “oh that’s too bad”… Also the room was full of mold especially on the light fixture by the bed and shower. Filthy floors. And extremely loud AC being on its last leg… Also, their official website doesn’t let me leave a review… I wonder if it’s “not working” on purpose…. So guest can’t leave a review after the stay.

  It looks great on the outside but rooms have roaches. Disappointed on staff when issue was called to their attention they seemed not to care and treated as if it was a normal situation. As if its a normal thing that happens at this hotel. Not an apology, not a called feom manager nothing. Really disappointed.

  I really enjoy traveling to San Antonio and I’ve had some great hotel experiences. My oldest daughter previously stayed at this hotel a few years ago and recommended this location. Let’s just say we will stick to the hotel research and booking next time. This hotel has a very odd layout, the rooms are very outdated. We rented a “suite” and the pullout bed was dirty and we could not use it. The room smelled so strongly of bleach and I could not figure what it was until we laid in bed. It seems they drenched the linens in bleach and didn’t wash it out. I don’t know that for a fact but it smelled so strongly of bleach and it made it difficult to sleep and I still feel itchy from laying in that bed. We called the front desk to ask for more towels and a blanket and were told to go downstairs to get them. The front desk attendants were not very friendly or engaged and they seemed overwhelmed with guest check in. There are signs posted stating quiet time are between certain hours and we arrived late (10:00 p.m) and there were people on our floor having a party or something and very loudly shouting to one another from one room to another. We had small children with us and had been traveling for five hours so were hoping the noise would not make it difficult to sleep. The other issue is the water backed up when taking a shower and drained slowly when done. In my opinion, don’t waste your money on this place. The only good thing I have to say is the breakfast selection was decent and the rooms had DOVE products in the restroom which I did appreciate.

  Originally had booked a 2 night stay. 1st day of being there the room had multiple issues (loose outlets, rust, broken mirror, mold, stained sheets) which were brought to the attention of staff. They stated they were not able to move us from that room due to capacity but they could change is in the morning. Again I spoke with staff the following morning and they said they would put a room aside for us to change to after 11am. We left the room and came back to the hotel at 1pm and the manager stated there was NO rooms available anymore. The only solution was to either stay in the room with all the issues or leave the hotel. We checked online and there was rooms available to book and when I brought it up I was told “what’s the point in us switching you to another room? It’ll just be worse than the one you’re in now, so you can just leave the hotel”. I’m a IHG member and they still refused to make it right; they didn’t even want me to pay extra for an upgraded room, they just wanted me out of the hotel for bringing up issues with the room. Management was 0 help.

  Sad to say that I had an unpleasant experience at this Holiday Inn this weekend. The room smelled a lot like bleach when I checked in at 4PM. The floor was wet and slippery and the room was muggy. The AC cooled but the room remained humid. Several items were showing signs of rust. The room door took some effort to close and stay locked. I am glad we only had one night in San Antonio. Service and location are good but I won't be staying here agan.
