  EDIT: I spoke to a manager. She was polite and kindly explained to me everything regarding the situation described below. I'm not going to remove or edit the information below, because it could help another first-time pet traveler. Ultimately, I would recommend this hotel to a friend. I would just also recommend that every hotel put out a notice explaining the obligations and responsibilities of pet traveling for any first-time pet travelers. The room was great, the location is good, the front desk people were great. My biggest complaint is about management and fee transparency. We booked a pet-friendly room assuming that if it's per friendly then we can have a pet there. There is a pet fee that was assessed on my card because we had a pet in the room. This pet fee was not made known to me before I gave them my card information, which I gave them explicitly and exclusively for a refundable hold. They had an entire paper on the front desk explaining the hold process, but not once was the pet fee disclosed or acknowledged. That's kinda shitty. There's no reason not to disclose the pet fee at the front desk in a similar format to the holds process. Especially in the trump economy, hidden fees are absolutely killer. It's $86, which at the time of writing is like two tanks of gas. That would have been nice to know about so I could budget for it ahead of time.

  Negatives: Room: Carpet needs to be cleaned. Air conditioner loud and struggled to cool room. Gym: No sanitizer wipes available. Breakfast: Eggs and sausage appeared reheated from the previous day. Mold on bagel, when pointed out to desk clerk she say "oh shoot" and went back to her phone. Ice machines: All out of order. Positives: Hotel is located on the main drag in town, gas station within a minutes walk. Hotel was quite.

  I'm writing this review from my room here at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Rockport - Bay View by IHG. I wish I had stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites which I did last time. DO NOT stay here, why? Outdated rooms, no smart TV's, EVERY, SINGLE ice machine on each floor is broken and I was told at check-in the pancake/waffle maker is broken. Management obviously sucks here and does not care about the upkeep. The front desk girl is just doing her job, doesn't really care to interact with guests and it seems like it's a bother or inconvenience. Hard to write a negative review when the Wi-Fi is slower than a Verizon hotspot in a town where Verizon doesn't even get full bars. How about Hampton Inn & Suites Rockport-Fulton, FANTASTIC. The suite was a perfect for a single traveler with some extra bags or a family with 2 toddlers. The breakfast was on-point (nice waffles) and looking forward to our next stay. Not only that, but the front desk staff were happy and actually seem like they like interacting with guests. TLTR: Stay at Hampton Inn and Suites, DO NOT stay at crapy Holiday Inn Express & Suites.

  I had the worst experience at the holiday inn in rockport never had a rude receptionist say to me what do I mean so rude and sarcastic when asking for an extra blanket and than tells me I can leave and once I try to report the bad interaction I had with her there is no manager on duty nobody to speak too. Who tells a customer they can leave after spending a lot of money to even stay 2 nights. I would never stay at this holiday inn in rockport ever again. All I had asked for was an extra blanket and I got the most rudest response ever and she decided to argue with me multiple times through out the day and saying I can leave. I would not recommend at all to stay here unprofessional and not people friendly at all. The staff are really rude to people. Multiple families at the same interaction with the staff as well.
