This hotel is a little better than most of the places around but I didn’t reserve my room long enough and just got booted. I’ll be going back to Candlewood now.

Disgusting and Completely Neglected This is easily one of the worst-maintained hotels I’ve ever stayed at, especially considering they charge nearly $300 a night. The entire property looks like it has been completely neglected. The pool is filthy and has plaster flaking off into the water, the hot tub was completely full of debris, and multiple gates are broken or out of order. There is practically no visible maintenance or upkeep anywhere. The rooms are just as bad. The bathtub had rust coming out of it and broken tiles, the carpet was peeling up, there were scuff marks everywhere, and there was even visible dirt and grime on the ceilings. One room they initially put me in was so bad that I refused to stay in it. It smelled like old grease, dirty clothes, and general filth. I spoke with the front desk about the conditions, and the response was essentially that they have already tried telling management about these problems but management won’t do anything. That is incredibly frustrating to hear as a paying guest. I’ve also opened a case with IHG because this is completely unacceptable. A hotel charging this kind of money should be investing at least some of that revenue into basic cleaning, maintenance, and keeping the property safe and presentable. This isn’t a case of a hotel being a little dated. This property is dirty, poorly maintained, and clearly being neglected. If you’re paying nearly $300 a night, you should absolutely expect better than this. That’s not even getting into the so-called breakfast they halfway slapped together. That’s the same thing slightly different each morning far from Continental. Nor the happy hour appetizers, that were the bare minimum of anything but free beer, can’t complain about that.

First of all the front desk staff was rude and not helpful at all when we checked in. Once we got checked in and off the elevator to our room the hallway smelt like mildew. It was overwhelming. Walked to our room just to find out our room smelt just as bad. We ended up having to go to HEB for febreeze, since it’s that gross. Everytime you turned around in the room there was something on the wall or furniture. Like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. So gross. You got our money this time but never again 🤮 and to think your prices are higher then most in the area. Sad. The pictures aren’t even half of the food and stuff caked to walls and furniture we found in this room. Do better.

If all you want to do is sleep and drink the free booze, it’s fine. Otherwise try elsewhere. I was actually quite looking forward to this as a simple efficient stay with space for the whole family for an overnight stop. However a load of little things really disappointed…there was coffee in the room but no milk / creamer, one of the cupboard doors was hanging off when opened, both baths had weird stains (one looked like a burn mark…no idea how that is possible in a bath), one bath had no plug (so guess that’s a bath shaped shower tray then?) and there were 3 tv’s, but only 2 controllers (because guessing which one does what is soooo fun). The evening drinks and breakfast were fine, and we got lucky as they were reopening the pool on the evening we arrived. So all in all bit of a mess of missing details. Comfy bed though.

Stayed here for a week. The front desk employees were great and so was management. Thier rooms do not go lower than 68 degrees. I forgot a bag of groceries when I checked out (my fault, my responsibility). When I called a few hours later the front desk lady said I could come back to retrieve the bag. When I got there my bag was half full. I questioned the front desk lady, she called house keeping and the returned 1 more item from the bag. I questioned again where my remaining missing items were and housekeeping said they could not find them. I packed that bag myself and put all items in the same one bag. So definitely do not forget anything in the room as housekeeping will help themselves. Will never stay there again.
