If you are visiting McKinney for a quick getaway, this hotel has your basic needs. Hotel breakfast is your standard hotel buffet. They have a fitness center and a pool, so a quick plus there. If you are traveling with and infant/toddler, they do not have a crib or pack n play. They are not looking to replace it either. Overall, pretty decent stay.
The staff is sweet, breakfast hot, clean rooms, COMFORTABLE firm beds (if you're pushing 40 like me lol), and the pool cold with an excellent hot tub and adjacent shower. The work out room is sufficient and it's in a great area. I appreciate they gave my husband good deals on two rooms for an extended work stay.
Upon arrival, my wife followed her normal safety and cleanliness routine by spraying the room and bedding with Lysol. While doing so, she noticed that the bedding was visibly dirty, with what appeared to be makeup and blood stains. We immediately contacted the front desk and were shocked to be told that we would need to remove the dirty bedding ourselves, bring it downstairs, pick-up clean bedding, and remake the bed ourselves.
As paying guests, we should never have been placed in a room with soiled bedding, nor should we have been expected to change the bedding ourselves. Clean bedding is one of the most basic expectations when staying at a hotel.
We also experienced an issue with the number of towels provided in our room. We only had two face towels and two bath towels. I personally went to the front desk to request additional towels and was told that because I had already checked in, I would have to wait until the following day to receive more towels. I found this response very disappointing. Guests should be able to request basic necessities such as clean towels during their stay, regardless of whether they have already checked in.
Later, my wife contacted the front desk again and explained that we do not use the same towels to wash our faces and bodies. She was then told that she would have to come downstairs herself to get the towels. My wife declined and explained that we were paying guests who came to relax and should not have to repeatedly come downstairs for basic room necessities. Eventually, a front desk employee brought the additional towels to our room.
Lastly, the air conditioning did not work properly during our stay. The room was extremely warm both nights. We reported the issue, and maintenance came to the room. Although the air conditioning worked temporarily, the room became hot again during the middle of the night, making it difficult for us to sleep comfortably.
What made the situation even more disappointing was the response I received at checkout. When I informed the front desk employee that the air conditioning had continued to malfunction, his response made me feel as though he was questioning my honesty rather than acknowledging the problem and apologizing for the inconvenience.
We paid for a clean, comfortable room with reasonable customer service. Unfortunately, we did not receive that. Between the soiled bedding, being expected to handle the replacement bedding ourselves, being told we had to wait until the next day for additional towels, the difficulty obtaining those towels even after contacting the front desk again, the air-conditioning system failing to keep the room comfortable for both nights, and the dismissive treatment at checkout, our stay fell far below reasonable expectations.
Unfortunately, based on this experience, I do not plan to return to this Best Western location, and I would not feel comfortable recommending it to my family or friends.
A pretty, upscale BW nestled into a small shopping outlet. Stepping inside, the front desk was excellent: friendly and striking that perfect balance between friendly and helpful. Heading up to the room, the elevator did seem a little bumpy but functioning. We were on the 3rd floor and the ice machine was in maintanance, but that wasn't a big deal for us since we just went down to the one in the lobby. Anyway, back to the room: beds were comfy, sheets/blankets/pillows were clean. A/C worked fine, carpet was clean, room paint seemed a little chipped in places, but nothing that would be a dealbreaker. Shower was clean and worked fine. Linens were clean and neat. The complimentary breakfast lived up to its usual praise from me. My only gripe is the location: it's fine for a business trip or maybe an excursion to the unique little shops around but there are fewer attractions in a stone's throw then some other locations. Overall, great experience, 4/5☆.

This facility was clean, modern, but couldn't find my corporate reservation until I had someone from the company on the phone then she miracously found it. But before I could get the room I had to put down a personal $100 dollar security deposit. Got to the room to get a shower ...let the water run for 15 minutes or more but the water temp never got to "body temp"....98.6....had to take a tempid shower....front desk said " I don't know, I'll have to call team" ... Whatever that meant. Next morning water was a tad bit warmer....maybe body temp. But I must say I have a personal member account with "BW" and I've never had to put up a security deposit and I've had by far better continental breakfast....I mean who in their right mind eats soy/plant based sausage patties that had so much grease????? The end result was a quick stop at a restroom. I will say the room was clean, no pubic hair in the tub, bed was comfortable but, I told corporate I'll never stay at this one again
