  The Staff are amazing!! They are so friendly, so accommodating & made us feel so welcomed!! They always treat our Head Staff with care! We appreciate everything they do for our group!! We have used Candlewood for the last 4 years & will continue to come back!! A BIG THANK YOU TO Justin & Colleen for making our stay wonderful……..Until next year!

  Hotel and room were very clean. Amenities were nice - full size fridge and dish washer - comfortable bed and linens. Was perfect for our weekend needs and close to the rodeo area for our event!

  I travel a lot. I'm also an IHG rewards member so have stayed at quite a few IHG brand hotels including some Candlewood Suites that were really nice. This one, unfortunately falls short on multiple areas. Yes, I know they're about to undergo some major renovations which are definitely needed. That being said, it's just ok. The pros: Staff: amazing!! Polite and accommodating. The cons: The room: way below par. Our first room had no working TV or phone. We ended up being moved to another room with working TV and phone. Beds: Were not comfortable at all. Door frames: are metal and most were bent in quite a bit by the latch, which gives the impression they've been broken into many times. The hotel itself: Very horrible musty, moldy, mildewy smell throughout. Again, this is one of their oldest hotels, and they are going to be starting renovations soon, so I did take that into consideration. Location: Not bad. Not too far off hwy 146. Not as close to Galveston as I had hoped. It was, however, close to Kemah boardwalk. Kinda hard to get to, especially with all the construction going on right now. Surrounded by several hotels. Overall: 3/5. We only stayed one night at this one, then stayed at another brand hotel nearby the remaining time. I probably would not stay here again in its current condition. After renos, we would have to see.

  This was not a pleasant experience. The thermostat on the heater did not work. When it got too hot I had to get up and turn it off. When it got too cold I had to get up and turn it back on; sleeping was difficult. The TV was flashing an add to upgrade to 80,000 plus channels. Which also made it difficult to sleep. I asked what time breakfast was and the lady told me that I should make my own breakfast hence the kitchenette; she floored me with that answer. The mattress was never flipped. I had to sleep in the inventation caused by all the other people who slept on the mattress. I tried to stretch out in the bed but it became uncomfortable due to the body impression. I could not get comfortable and was forced to lay within the previous body impression. I will never stay there again and I will think twice about staying at any Candle Wood Inn for that matter.
